Hot tip: GB is going to beat them.

That would be so annoying because that would mean everybody else in the NFCN has 2 wins, while the Bears have 0. That needs to be corrected.

The Bears have to start winning divisional games if they want to be considered a threat. So having divisional games coming up is an opportunity to start racking up tie breakers and flipping the script on what has been a horrible weak point on our resume. 7-23 from 2021-2025. That just has to change and now is the time.

I mean, it's not like they can just call up the Packers and schedule a game with them this week.

So they've got 3 games and a bye to handle before they start worrying about divisional games.

So, Lamar Jackson is hurt and going on IR and Tyler Huntley is going to have an MRI on his toe.  Florio was just on NBC speculating that Declan Doyle may be interested in getting Bagent from the Bears but it would be difficult to pry him away.

Smells like a desperation overpay to me 🤔

Recoup the 4th rounder we just gave up and I’m happy but I don’t see the Bears doing it. They’ve been very consistent about how they feel about Bagent for four years now.

I bet that has changed after his last performance

I'm absolutely sending Bagent over for a 4 but i doubt the Ravens do that and unfortunately, i doubt that Bagent's value to the rest of the league is anywhere close to that. But Ben and co may still value him at that level.

In general, I don’t disagree, but if the Ravens specifically choose to pursue him, they’re (i.e. Doyle) basing it on more information than his performance at Lambeau.

I know the cap is mostly imaginary, but the Bears are currently sitting at just under $2 million in cap space.  Mack would cost them close to $4.5 million for the remainder of the season. Each week moving forward reduces that by $425k. So the Bears would need to redo some contracts to make him fit.  And they need to have some cash remaining for additional in season moves due to possible injuries and subsequent signings.

I'm sure it can be done, but it's not as simple as just trading for a guy.

It’s aggravating how in a year where we seem to have all the pieces needed to make a superbowl run, our schedule is brutal with maybe 2 easy opponents on the schedule, games versus the Bills, Jags, Seahawks, 4 more games against 3 annoying horsefeathers divisional teams who’ve had a combined 2 losing seasons since 2022 and none since 2024 and we’re the 8th seed if we lose tonight.

Wonder if the Raiders would send Cousins to BAL

Tom Brady is old school "rookie must sit", so I doubt Cousins is going anywhere.

True. But just take it week by week. If Allen gets hurt you're not scared of the Bills, same with Lawrence. It's a week-to-week league full of ups and downs and if everyone is at full strength I still have confidence the Bears can compete with any team in the league, home or away.

Ben Johnson is 14-2 against non NFC North teams.

If they lose tonight,  I wouldn't worry too much. Yes they would be out of the playoffs,  but take care of business the rest of the way. Like winning 3/4 remaining division games. I think the Vikings crash out. Packers are one dimensional,  Lions are the team to worry about for the division.

This is pretty much how I see it too. If they do lose tonight and lose one division game and the game against the Bills that’s 5 losses. I would take my chances at 12-5. And, IMO, they would be favorite in any other games on their schedule. So take care of the division and win the games they’re supposed to win.

I’m not denying that, but 7/10 games are going to be against playoff teams, and if you throw in the resurgent Bucs, that’s 8. Seeding is the problem here and it’s so damn frustrating.

Injuries can happen, Josh Allen could miss a game with an injury for the first time since his rookie year but the same applies to the Bears. I’m just annoyed.

The packers scare me more with their defense and getting Parsons back. But every divisional opponent will be a tough game and if a playoff home game is the goal here then they’ll have little margin for error.

Trading away Bagent would help a bit.  They'd be about $1m over, which is essentially nothing.

Regardless, Rapaport says they're still talking about Mack...

If they want a player and they are a few million over, they can move contracts around and make them bonuses or whatever they do.

I’m going to be more worried about our cornerbacks after JSN torches us tonight. That’s going to seem like a bigger problem.

I totally understand what you are saying but it's a 1st place schedule. Hopefully we have a 1st place schedule again next year.

If they get to Darnold with 4, that'll lessen the torching by JSN.  I've a feeling Sweat is out for blood tonight and with the addition of Simmons he's going to have a big game.

We'll see.  JSN is gonna get his, but hopefully getting pressure on Darnold will minimize the damage.
