Went to a wedding a few years ago in St. Louis, the overwhelming feeling I got from there is it's depressing. There's nobody around the downtown, there is not much of any kind of nightlife, the only cool thing there is the City Museum (coincidentally, where the wedding was held), and that's about it. Sadly true of a great many midwestern cities.

Oh i don't get me wrong, I think the Fraudkings are total Frauds, but they also Do this. They won 14 games with a negative point differential. They just get that Pixie Magic every couple years. I don't think they are actually "Good" but they have built up a 2.5 game lead by Frauding their way to wins

Oh man, Caleb sounded verifiably pissed during his press conference today. I guess he was pretty upset about how things have been reported on since his injury (and I can understand that), though I don't really blame the Chicago media for it - more national and social media yapping. Anyway, I hope he goes crazy and completely lights it up on Sunday.

I just checked our remaining schedule and man, it has bummed me out. We're approaching the part of the season where we have a somewhat reasonable idea of how good everyone is and...well it's gonna be tough: @ ATL Patriots @Seattle Buccs Bye Saints @DET Jags @Miami @Buffalo Packers Lions @MIN Of those, only Miami and Tampa Bay are real slouches. Seattle, New England, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Minnesota (has to be admitted at this point) and Detroit are all contenders. Maybe Green Bay too after this past week and getting Parsons back. The Saints are feisty. I'm not doom and glooming nothing, but we pretty much have to beat Atlanta and play REALLY good football against a bunch of really good teams down the stretch. Woof.

I’ll say this: the Brewers current wave of domination bothers me less than the 20 years of Cardinals domination from the late 90s to the mid 2010s. I hated those guys with a deep, dark passion that the brewers can’t ever match. Also the Cardinals managed to win a World Series with one of the worst teams to win ever, which adds to the evil.

I think the best hope for the defense has very little to do with the defense: it’s playing with a lead. If Caleb and the offense can get off to a hot start, hold onto the ball for long stretches and put pressure on opposing teams to have to score often and with less and less time to do it, that’s when the defense will look its “best”. That’s what worked in the Philly and Jets games (though notably, it didn’t work at all against the Panthers)

I don’t know why we’re saying things so definitively. No, they’re not horsefeathered. Yes, losing these guys hurts. Caleb coming back is the biggest factor to everything. The defense was always bad, 3 games against bad offenses didn’t mean anything.

2 weeks is a very minor suspension so I bet its something really stupid like using too much Tylenol

Doesn't seem like we've gotten one shred of good news in the last like, two weeks. Well, I guess other than Caleb looking healthier and approaching readiness to play. What kind of team would he have left when he returns?

I turned the game off after Keenum threw the interception in the mid-4th quarter. As far as I'm concerned, the Odunze fumble is in some kind of Schrodinger's Cat situation where I acknowledge that it could possibly exist but I am not going to open the box and actually watch video of it.

I can’t really get too worked up with Ben’s play calling, he had a QB who literally couldn’t deliver a catchable ball if it was thrown further than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage. Of course you’re gonna see the John Shoop/Ron Turner desperation offensive plays like jet sweeps and WR screens. You can’t run a normal offense in those conditions. what you CAN fault Ben Johnson for is seeing Bagent for two years and thinking he could run a normal pro offense. That clearly isn’t the case, and Bagent should have been replaced at halftime, when the Bears still had a chance in the game (not a very large chance, mind you, but a chance)

That was such a classic Bears-Packers meeting it felt like I entered a time portal. There are a lot of ways the Packers dominated us over the years but the main thing they did in our meetings over the course of my life: they always made it look like they were playing a completely different sport than the Bears. The Bears may play good defense, or they may barely keep it close, but then the Packers come in and do something the Bears (classically) could never do, like throw 3 bombs in a row that we couldn’t cover and score. That had to be the most humiliating thing too: they threw 3 lollipop, rainbow bombs into the end zone and not once could the Bears do a single thing about it. It was made only more humiliating that Jaylon was able to draw an illegal hands to the face penalty to allow the Packers to throw ANOTHER one just to prove how effortlessly they could do it. At that point you should just pack it in. We can’t let Caleb miss another game. I can’t watch classical Bears quarterbacking again. I can’t go back to that dark place.

I could stomach a loss all things considered but what I can’t stomach is being utterly humiliated in every facet of the game. We should be better than them, we have been better than them. we’re making Jordan Love look like the best QB in the league. its the same old Bears Packers story. A man shouldn’t have to see this for 35 straight years
