  1. He seemed to be very hot between innings. He was splashing water in his face. It could be dehydration. My hand cramps up when dehydrated. Hopefully that is all it is.
  2. But games before May 9th count too. Again, I am also very frustrated. But a team 3 games over .500 on the year is not a bad team. By definition it is average. Also, I have to think if none of the pitchers gets hurt they have at least 3 more wins. So that would put them 9 games over. Basically a good team. Had you said right now they are a bad team, again, hard to argue that. But as a whole, they are average. And insured have definitely taken a toll.
  3. Or Shaw. I agree they need to sit those guys some.
  4. This just isn’t true. They arent even a BAD baseball team with all the injuries. Now you can argue they are average. And it would be hard to disagree with you. But they are average with so many injuries. I don’t like the way the season is going. I am very disappointed. But they are not a bad team now, and without injuries would be pretty good.
  5. Beat me to it. What if they went 4-6 in that losing streak? The. They would be 11 games over .500. They would be looking good at 42-31
  6. They signed Swanson prior to the ‘23 season. And they won 83 games that year. I believe they finished just outside the playoffs. I think one more win against the Dbacks, would have resulted in a trip to the playoffs. I also believe that in early September the Cubs chances of making the playoffs spiked at over 90%. Suggesting they were nowhere close to competing is just a false narrative. They signed Swanson to compete. And they did. They have done so every year since ‘23.
  7. I think what CC is doing now is fine. Play him, but also give him a day or two to sit down. And when you play him don’t be afraid to PH for him late in a game. His defense is valuable. As you said, his fWAR is 10th among SS. But he has to start hitting too.
  8. Your “mega star” criteria and all contending teams have more than 1 of them is just a ridiculous take. Who deems a guy a mega star? What criteria is used? Is it the numbers that player puts up in the year the team you are referring to won a WS? Is it career achievement, even if that particular year he wasn’t that good? I don’t agree with a lot of what you said, but just focusing on this one issue, please define “mega star” and tell me the two on each team competing for the playoffs this year. Who are Seattle’s two mega stars?, Rays, Padres, Guardians, Braves, Brewers, etc….
  9. This sums it up for me too. And if every B- FO personal were fired there would be a lot of openings in baseball and a bunch of teams picking up other teams B- castoffs. Jed isn’t great, but he isn’t as bad as some suggest.
  10. Regardless of which is the cubs #1 prospect, both have to be top 50, right? Both doing great things at a young age.
  11. But even after hitting a guy to load the bases, he got out of that inning without further damage. . And then pitched another inning. He walked a guy to start the 7th and was pulled. He went 4.2 innings. Hardly a long leash. And the pen gave the run up anyway. Remember he didn’t start. So they were down a pen arm already. Yes, after the inning he gave up the homer, when he got in trouble again CC could have pulled him. But aside from the homer he was pretty good up until then. And he has to eat innings. They were already down 3-0 to Webb. It was probably a game that, at that time, they had a 10% chance of winning. Why run through pen arms when maybe Rea can’t get through that inning, and even if he couldn’t, you probably aren’t scoring 4 runs anyway.
  12. Who thought he would be out after 6? Granted, 8 was a lot because of a 7 pitch 7th. But he was only at 90 ish after 7.
  13. Wanted to avoid the lefties in the first inning🤷
  14. What is it with you and Rea? When was he supposed to take him out? After two bloop hits with EV around 60MPH. Yes, Chapman crushed a homer after that. But there was no way he should have taken him out before that homer. Rea is a swing starter. I get that is all he is. But you can’t take him out after 3 innings of pitching well.
  15. By change, I assume you mean they need to start playing better. Because the players they have there are going to play most of the time. None are being relegated to the bench.
