  1. Yeah, that’s a surprise. Man, Harris was so bad, though. No surprise there. The Score is such a shell of what it used to be. So much time filled with nationally syndicated shows, wagertainment, and replays of 2016 Cubs games. And the personalities on ESPN 1000 do nothing for me.
  2. Yeah I mean I have no strong opinions on Kepley one way or the other, but throwing a Rickey Henderson comp (no matter what level of poverty you want to qualify the comp with!) is giving “Harold Reynolds analyzes the draft” vibes. Dude is 17th among hitters in fwar all time. There’s some guys whose careers are just so hallowed that invoking their name in relation to a back end top 100 prospect who just hit AA is just silly on its face. I tend to like players who play like Kepley but I’m still waiting to see more upper level success before I buy in, but even then, as others have mentioned, it’ll be interesting to see if he actually makes sense in the cubs lineup when he is ready. If Seiya walks, if Busch levels out closer to 18-22 HRs than the 34 he hit last year, etc. they’re going to need to find somewhere for more thump in the lineup, and COF is one of the only spots that’s not spoken for in the coming years.
  3. It’s a little hard to bridge the gap when one guy is throwing a Nico comp (complementary!) and the other guy is pulling out Rickey Henderson.
  4. If only there was a way to hold him accountable
  5. 4 pitches into the game, Amaya with one of the dumber challenges you’ll see.
  6. Yep I’m sure he’ll start crumbling under the pressure any day now. Anyyyy dayyy now.
  7. Man, Jed got ensorcelled by a 26 strong innings from Zeferjahn and made him his premiere bullpen addition at the deadline. Whaddya know, he immediately turned back into the same walk and HR pitcher he’s always been.
  8. I mean, Larry Gies donated $100 million to the Illinois athletic program last year. It’s gone, in part, to building a comically large video board. You’re not wrong, but just pointing out that it’s not a northwestern specific phenomenon. Billionaires, man.
