I felt the one bad throw to Kmet looked more like Caleb thought Kmet would turn to look back on his left rather than his right, which is what makes that throw look way off. Tim Jenkins thought there was a possibility that one was tipped at the line, but I don't think that's true. The one in the middle of the field to, I think, Loveland was bad, but I'm not asking for perfection in week 1. Week 2 and a divisional game, yeah, I want and need perfection.

Kyler Murray was only designated as "limited" in practice on Wednesday, which potentially sets him up to be ready to go on Sunday. But, it would still surprise me.

I just watched the Tim Jenkins play breakdowns, and he didn't point it out until late, but I have to give monster recognition to Swift and Monangai for their outstanding blocking on passing downs. They picked up blitzing players from the opposite side of where they lined up, which helped make a lot of those great plays happen. If Minnesota is watching tape this week, they may want to tone down their blitz plays, even though that's really what makes their defense thrive. The blocking was top notch throughout that game.

I watched the Packers/Vikings game. I didn't think the decision to take the field goal off the board and take the 5 yard penalty was a horrible decision by LaFleur, since 4th and 1 in deep Minny territory was staring him in the face, but boy did it backfire. From that point on, Green Bay got pantsed. Possibly with the help of the officials, but I'm not shedding any tears.

That Denver showing was quite possibly the ugliest performance of the week. KC game planned Bo Nix quite nicely and that KC offense shredded the Denver defense.

For the record, whatever the experiment Cairo was going for there needs to be refined or scrapped, because giving the other team the ball at the 40 is BS. Especially since Jahdae and Roschon are ready to put a stomping on whoever is running with the ball.

Zavion Thomas might get turned loose on the Viking defense if they decide to blitz like crazy, as per usual. The Bears have blitz busters up and down the line up and Ben will be game planning exactly that. They have guys who they can hit on quick routes, and they have guys who can run right past the Vikings DB's. Pick a spot and let the receiver run to that spot. Minnesota only had 17 points going into the 4th quarter. It was the two fumbles and interception that allowed them to put up 22 points in 12 minutes. They were showing a graphic in the Minny game where Favre and Rodgers both won MVP's in their 7th season and Love is in his 7th year and that their overall numbers at that point were pretty similar. Love isn't winning an MVP with the current QB crop he has to go against. Remember the days when everyone was mad that Washington got Dan Quinn and the Bears got Eberflus and the Bears drafted Caleb instead of Jayden Daniels? Daniels looked sooooo pedestrian yesterday. Eberflus' failures led to Ben, and it's because of Caleb that he wanted to be Bear. We all know the history, but it's kind of fun looking at how all of the pieces fell into place. And once again, a huge wet kiss for Lovie Smith for making all of this possible.

What if I told you Rome, Luther and Colston combined for 7 catches and zero td's in a game the Bears scored 59 points. Lots of weird anomalies like that in this game. So I watched the Vikings game. It doesn't appear as though Kyler will be back in time for Sunday's game. That was a brutal concussion. Those typically mean possibly missing 2-4 games. Wentz looked like a backup until the 4th quarter, but even he was holding his back and wincing on plays after some tackles.

Taylor has too much leg to kick off. Cairo actually normally does pretty good with kickoffs in the landing zone, IMO. In fact, I think Cairo's weenie leg is designed for hitting the landing zone with regularity. Kick offs into the end zone for touch backs are not good for field position. Maybe Cairo was working on hitting the landing zone shorter and hoping for bad hops to create a quicker attack to the ball carrier.

I set up 8 tv's in my man cave before Sunday, then got invited to a Bears party for week 1. At halftime, the electricity went out for the rest of the day while everyone at the party huddled around cell phones broadcasting without wifi. Not the best way to enjoy a Bears victory, but the food was great, the buzz was great and the company was great. It looked like a preseason game for the defense, so hopefully they get a little more dialed in next week. Don't expect them to be a top defense, but definitely better than yesterday. I love Ben, but there is no defending going for it at your own 20. Even if you get the first down, you are still 75+ yards from the end zone and a long way from a Cairo kick. Don't put that much pressure on the defense to do their jobs. They already have their hands full with so few play makers.
