  1. You know who never makes this mistake? The people of San Diego.
  2. I set up 8 tv's in my man cave before Sunday, then got invited to a Bears party for week 1. At halftime, the electricity went out for the rest of the day while everyone at the party huddled around cell phones broadcasting without wifi. Not the best way to enjoy a Bears victory, but the food was great, the buzz was great and the company was great. It looked like a preseason game for the defense, so hopefully they get a little more dialed in next week. Don't expect them to be a top defense, but definitely better than yesterday. I love Ben, but there is no defending going for it at your own 20. Even if you get the first down, you are still 75+ yards from the end zone and a long way from a Cairo kick. Don't put that much pressure on the defense to do their jobs. They already have their hands full with so few play makers.
  3. Rome has been upgraded to "expected to play".
  4. It seemed like Detroit couldn't get rid of him fast enough, and Phily let him walk after giving up a future 4th rounder for him after only a year. Seems like he has a secured home now with Ben. He's not a top RB, but he finds holes in the running game and he's pretty surehanded catching balls out of the backfield. He's dangerous in the open field. It seems as though it keeps the solid core of offensive threats together for the foreseeable future. I'm cool with that.
  5. Another game being played at an agonizingly slow pace.
  6. I had both of them starting in the playoffs on my fantasy team yesterday. Holmes +21 Harrison -18
  7. Fell asleep and missed that last PCA homer. Dammit! Dude is accepting the challenge of being the best player in the world right now.
  8. It’s an A from me. They needed pitching and they got guys who can impact this roster in a very positive way.
  9. 100%. Rewatch the play and you'll see a bit of frustration on PCA's face as he looks over at Amaya. He totally wanted 3b on that hit and you can rest assured he was going to take it. PCA always wants the extra base.
  10. Why will they be worse? At the very least, they will go into next season with every position player minus LF and RF already locked in. They will have Steele, Horton, Brown, Cabrera, Wiggins (all with VERY RESTED arms), Assad, possibly Peterson or Rea, and they could very easily bring back one of Boyd or Imanaga, and that doesn't include what controllable arms they might add at the deadline or this winter. I doubt they get a repeat of the bullpen failures of 2026, either. What team ever has their entire bullpen go on the damn DL for extended lengths of the season? What position player is playing so far over their head this season that it isn't sustainable? Is it a flawed roster? Absolutely. But it's also a roster with the capability of adding the pieces to put them in the thick of a playoff race. Punting is so laughable, that troll is the only way to describe your ramblings.
  11. Might be more Kane jerseys than Bedard jerseys on opening day at the UC.
  12. Exactly. Teams with assets to trade aren't just going to cough them up on the first offer. They want bidding wars since there aren't many teams looking to sell at the moment.
  13. Anybody have stats on what percentage of college players were drafted vs. high school players (ALL TEAMS), and how much that percentage compares to previous years?
  14. I changed the channel in frustration the moment they upheld the challenge on Hoerner's steal. I saw that Happ got a single soon after, but wondered if what transpired after would have resulted in Hoerner scoring from 3rd, or would he have scored on Happ's single?
  15. I certainly don't understand the foul that caused the England team to be a man down the rest of the game. The dude's leg rolled over the ball, which caused the contact between the two players. The referees look terrible on these harsh penalties that look entirely like incidental contact. It's the World Cup, dude. Let 'em play unless there is true intent to injure.
  16. Cubs win 23-3 and have a stellar win/loss rate over the last 20 games and that's the moment you choose to eat Cheerios with pee in it? Given the amount of pitchers on the DL or IL or whatever you want to call it, I'd say they should be happy to be middle of the pack in ERA. WEIRD!
  17. Some didn't like his schtick. I loved it. It was passionate. You could hear the love he had for the Bulls. I don't know how he kept up that level of passion given the fact the organization was constantly a letdown. Bang, Bang, Bang! RIP Stacy!
  18. This just feels like upping the leverage meter to the red. I'll laugh my ass off if they build a stadium in the hell hole, toxic dump that is Hammond IN. That would be the most epic fail in NFL history forever. I already decided a few years ago that I've gone to my last NFL game, so I really don't care what stadium they play in while I watch on TV.
  19. The answer is an emphatic no.
  20. I know Garrett is a beast, but Verse is 5 years younger. And then couple that with a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd round pick in the future. Yikes. I suppose they just see it as the window closing with Stafford at 38 years old. Nice score for the Browns. Of course, they don't seem to know what to do with picks, so there's that.
  21. It's not about being able to afford it. It's about getting as many handouts as possible so that they can keep their own money in their own pockets. This is not a new thing. Every sports team owner wants everything just handed to them. Indiana was only ever brought into the discussion to get politicians nervous. That doesn't mean they wouldn't move to Indiana (see San Diego Chargers) if the politicians refuse to cave.
  22. Gotta love Pete putting that ball right in the heart of those goofballs.
  23. Some folks should just go to bed instead of making comments like this. But, I suppose there is one in every crowd that thinks rewarding a SP with a spot at the end of the bench while sporting a low pitch count and a shut out.
