  1. I certainly don't understand the foul that caused the England team to be a man down the rest of the game. The dude's leg rolled over the ball, which caused the contact between the two players. The referees look terrible on these harsh penalties that look entirely like incidental contact. It's the World Cup, dude. Let 'em play unless there is true intent to injure.
  2. Cubs win 23-3 and have a stellar win/loss rate over the last 20 games and that's the moment you choose to eat Cheerios with pee in it? Given the amount of pitchers on the DL or IL or whatever you want to call it, I'd say they should be happy to be middle of the pack in ERA. WEIRD!
  3. Some didn't like his schtick. I loved it. It was passionate. You could hear the love he had for the Bulls. I don't know how he kept up that level of passion given the fact the organization was constantly a letdown. Bang, Bang, Bang! RIP Stacy!
  4. This just feels like upping the leverage meter to the red. I'll laugh my ass off if they build a stadium in the hell hole, toxic dump that is Hammond IN. That would be the most epic fail in NFL history forever. I already decided a few years ago that I've gone to my last NFL game, so I really don't care what stadium they play in while I watch on TV.
  5. The answer is an emphatic no.
  6. I know Garrett is a beast, but Verse is 5 years younger. And then couple that with a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd round pick in the future. Yikes. I suppose they just see it as the window closing with Stafford at 38 years old. Nice score for the Browns. Of course, they don't seem to know what to do with picks, so there's that.
  7. It's not about being able to afford it. It's about getting as many handouts as possible so that they can keep their own money in their own pockets. This is not a new thing. Every sports team owner wants everything just handed to them. Indiana was only ever brought into the discussion to get politicians nervous. That doesn't mean they wouldn't move to Indiana (see San Diego Chargers) if the politicians refuse to cave.
  8. Gotta love Pete putting that ball right in the heart of those goofballs.
  9. Some folks should just go to bed instead of making comments like this. But, I suppose there is one in every crowd that thinks rewarding a SP with a spot at the end of the bench while sporting a low pitch count and a shut out.
  10. I haven't tuned in much in the past two weeks. It's too painful. I love winning baseball. I hate losing baseball.
  11. I kind of despise You Tube TV's DVR system, but it does store all of the Bears games forever, so I guess there's that.
  12. Bregman hitting 2nd or 3rd all season and has 14 RBI. That's pathetic. It's clearly his turn to create some spark.
  13. Yeah. It would be quite a punch to the gut to lose to the team that gave us all of those picks for a bottom third QB. But, also because the schedule doesn't get any easier.
  14. Sports Mockery is a Facebook page I blocked a long time ago. Actually forgot about them until you brought up their name.
  15. Missed all of 2025 for a non football related issue. Hard to say whether the Bears felt he wasn't ready to get his head in the game or hasn't been in contact with the team, etc....Wish he could have been in the mix for a depth spot in the DB room.
  16. I don't feel like it's that bad for the pen, especially if they can get 9 innings out of Brown, Assad and Rolison today. Have Roberts and Velasquez replace Thornton and Hollowell on this road trip and the pen is a bit more refreshed on Saturday. Hope like hell you don't need a long reliever on Saturday or Sunday.
  17. Would love for a sweep today and a courtesy love tap to the helmet of EDLC from anyone/everyone.
  18. Seems as though the Reds players love this song and do everything they can to hear it. Win today and it will likely enter the charts as one of the most played songs of the month.
  19. That may be true. But I did see it from a page that had Schefter's name attached to it. Sorry I didn't link it. Wasn't really posting to "be first". Especially since this isn't a move that moves any needles in any dramatic directions. Apologies if it turns out to be bogus.
  20. Sounds like the Bears are about to sign veteran free agent EDGE Hassan Reddick.
  21. Not sure if they have injured starters or not, but not impressed with the ERA's of the 4 guys slated to start for them in this series. Their bats seem pretty legit. Meanwhile, rotating heroes on the Cubs roster is making this team a lot of fun right now. Same roster as the guys that were frustrating the hell out of us a month ago. More heroism please.
  22. I'd be surprised if they didn't bring someone in. June 1 is the next wave of roster cuts. Should learn something soon after that.
  23. I questioned many of the picks last year and that turned out to be a great draft, so I'm keeping my mouth shut on this year's draft.
  24. Do you restructure someone's contract and then trade him?
