  1. I guess now that the rotation is improved, Webb has to turn into a pumpkin to achieve universal balance. Cubs are not allowed to chase down Milwaukee.
  2. They’d have the same record no matter how much war you subtract. It’s illegal for the Brewers to be bad, let alone finish with a worse record than the Cubs. Hypothetically they’d be a 500 team though.
  3. Figures. What’s your level of confidence in Steele and or Brown being stretched out for multiple innings from the pen at some point?
  4. Watch them draft Arch Manning on day 2. He’ll fit right in with Brady Quinn, Colt McCoy, Brandon Weeden, Manziel, Kizer, Sanders and whoever else I’m missing in their graveyard of hyped college quarterback prospects they love drafting.
  5. Man it would be nice to get another outing like this from Clay Holmes on Tuesday and win back to back games with the 2 deadline additions for the first time as Cubs. When is Ramirez supposed to stop hitting?
  6. Cubs offense is too inconsistent on an a per Inning basis.
  7. It might seem like it because they’ve shutout 12 times (#2) and lead baseball in games with 10+ runs, but they’re far more consistent than last year and objectively very consistent.
  8. How many have a 33-32 season?
  9. I didn’t include wRC+ because Fangraphs only makes a park factor adjustment for home teams. Seattle had a 126 vs a 123 despite a 333 vs 347 wOBA gap. Really aggravating series.
  10. Cubs are 21-24 vs the AL either a +52 run differential and a pythag win record of 28-17. Last year they went 30-18 with a +54. If only they’d flip that win today to where it’s expected……. they’d be 82-49 with a 76-55 pythag record.
  11. One of the most dominant 3 game series by the Cubs all season. -435 to 282 edge in team wOBA -4.26 to 7.58 edge in team FIP -Edged out Seattle in both FIP and wOBA in all 3 games. -Outscored Seattle 28-13. -Average MOV 9-4. I’m happy that the Cubs avoided being swept.
