  1. So when do the cubs face Skubal? Monday?
  2. I have a friend who is a die hard Yankees fan. Yanks fans hate this dude with a passion lol
  3. My guess is they get Clay Holmes and one of their relievers in a package deal. Zombro has a relationship with Holmes, he even had Ben Brown train with him in the offseason. I believe Holmes helped Brown develop his splitter.
  4. Passan says that Skubal will be traded, and the Tigers will be listening on offers within the next day(today) or two (tomorrow). Dodgers are the favorites.
  5. I think Counsell gives him one more start with a really quick hook to Assad.
  6. I know his underlying data seems ok, but he’s been a complete disaster since they traded for him last deadline.
  7. Status: Has started to increase activity to tolerance, including plyo ball work and light throwing. Manager Craig Counsell said Brown has been "asymptomatic" recently, but Cubs continue to be conservative with his program. (Last updated: July 22)
  8. The Cubs are going to be facing Christopher Sanchez and Zach Wheeler in a 3 game series. Acquiring a mediocre starter for a top 10 prospect and Shaw is a waste of assets. Either get a guy who can go pitch for pitch with those 2 or don’t even bother.
  9. Wouldn’t Logan Webb be more expensive than Skubal? He’s signed through 2028.
  10. That was just twitter reporters, I think. Counsell specifically said the MRI showed “some areas of concern in his ribs”. He didn’t flat out call it a fracture at the time because they wanted to see if Horton could pitch through it. I know that QB’s can play with broken ribs, so I guess maybe there is not that much risk in making the injury worse.
  11. From listening to Counsel, it sounds like they identified the rib fracture in the initial MRI. Horton was adamant that he could pitch through the injury. He then threw a session on Friday, and his mechanics were off due to the rib injury. I would assume they give him a week and a half off from throwing and try again, see if he’s comfortable enough to pitch.
