  1. Considering the level of pitching they faced today, this might be their worst offensive showing of the year
  2. I feel like the boys went out drinking last night. I can't come up with any other explanation for this.
  3. 5 strike outs in 2 innings from Urquidy who has a career 7.29 K/9.
  4. Guy who entered the game with a slightly above 8 ERA mowing down the Cubs like he's Pedro in his prime. The horsefeathers is this......
  5. Well that was a really bad at bat.
  6. With his limited pitch count, you're probably hoping for 5 at best out of Holmes today.
  7. Why does Benintendi suck against everyone but the Cubs?
  8. Yeah the last 2 starts have not been great.
  9. Lenny Dykstra easily the most surprising one to me
  10. I'd love to see the Cubs sweep them and send them into a tailspin where they miss the playoffs, but the AL is so damn bad it seems impossible.
  11. The usual, it's still early caveats and all, but the 2026 draft sure doesn't sound like the 2025 draft 1st Rounder Dillon Theineman early reports have him sounding like he's really up and down from play to play which sounds pretty ominous given an already porous defense 2nd Rounder Logan Jones has been not great in practices, which is extremely disappointing because I thought he would be someone ready to take over the role by week 6. 3rd Rounder Sam Rousch I've heard very little about, but Jared Verse did wreck him 3rd Rounder Zavion Thomas has been getting some hype and talking about him actually being more involved in the offense rather than just a gadget play/return guy. 4th Rounder Malik Muhammad is learning a completely new position due to injuries and it sounds like he's capable but that's about where things end 5th Rounder Keyshaun Elliot I've heard absolutely nothing about since his injury 6th Rounder Jordan Van den berg is still getting a bit of hype and had a solidish preseason debut. Long story short, I don't think we're getting anyone with the immediate impact of last year's guys like Burden, Loveland and Monangai
  12. They brought him back out after a 90 minute delay? Is this their World Series?
  13. I completely forgot Mariotti even existed. God it's hard to choose who to root for between two people who suck as much as Steve Stone and jay Mariotti.
  14. Don't think he gets to 40/40, but 35/35 would be really cool. Also, with as crazy as PCA has been this year, that Ohtani hit 50/50 is kind of mind blowing.
  15. A really strong ROY class this year, the AL in particular. NL favorites JJ Wetherholt: 107 wRC+, the favorite to get a GG at 2B, already at 4.3 fWAR Carson Benge: 112 wRC+, absolute rocket of an arm, might finish the season 20/20, at 2.6 fWAR Sal Stewart: 114 wRC+, likely finishes the year with 30+HR and 100+ RBI, at 2.0 fWAR Nolan McClean: 3.34 ERA, 3.61 FIP, 3.54 xFIP, might hit 200 Ks, at 2.6 fWAR AL Favorites(it's basically McGonigle's already) Kevin McGonigle: 132 wRC+, a good defender at premium positions, 4.7 fWAR Munetake Murakami: 150 wRC+, missed a lot of the season with injury but has still posted a 2.9 fWAR so far Parker Messick: 2.59 ERA, 3.25 FIP, 3.45 xFIP, 3.5 fWAR Payton Tolle: 2.97 ERA, 3.21 FIP, 3.61 xFIP, 3.1 fWAR
  16. I feel like I'm going to spend the better part of the decade hating Antonacci
  17. Tyson Bagent is not good.
  18. For a speedy lefty, he really carries a low babip so far in his pro career.
  19. If putting Cabrera in the pen means keeping Peterson in the rotation, I'm 100% out on that. A guy with these numbers as a cub 6.49 K/9, xERA 5.04, 4.27 FIP, 4.27 xFIP has no business taking away the upside of Cabrera's starts.
  20. Some weird run differential outliers this year Tampa Bay is 74-46 with a +62 differential and expected record of 67-53 Detroit is 60-62 with an +87 differential and expected record of 70-50
  21. So through 46 games he has now put up 1.0 fWAR putting him on 3.5 fWAR/162 pace, but he only has 129 PAs in those 46 games which is 2.8 PAs a game, so he's obviously not playing a full game on many of those days. If we view it by PAs and spread it over 600 PAs, that's 4.7 fWAR.
  22. Random question that doesn't really deserve it's own thread. As of now, Bregman is sitting at 46.3 fWAR for his career. If Bregman continues at a 4 fWAR pace for the next 4 years, is he a HOFer? 60 fWAR has kind of been the number as far as having a good case for making the HoF.
