This offense is straight up not good.

5 of today's 9 starters are slugging .308 or less. Swanson and Shaw still don't have an extra base hit and PCA has 1. That's frankly awful.

random thought, but it's kind of crazy that 4/9 of the Cub lineup has 0 XBH so far.

Weren't they supposed to be improved? So far, they're not even competitive. We're not even a full 6 games into the season yet and they're sitting at a -29 run differential already.

Of course they would completely ignore that well before this the Bulls already said he was out for the year due to injury, that he was on an expiring contract and that there are 7 games left in the season so he literally would not have played regardless and would have been a FA at the end of the year. Nope, let's act like he was targeted.

Well early on everyone seems to have UConn winning a close one. The game plan needs to be almost entirely focused on controlling Reed. Also, Illinois cannot win if they put up another 18% from 3 stinker.

Michigan beat the hell out of Tennessee and Duke is laying it on UConn so far. I hate to say it, but there's a pretty big gap between Illinois and Michigan/Arizona/Duke.

A month later, they still have the 9th worst record and they're a full 4 games out of moving up with 8 games to go. I see zero hope for this team, just permanently sub mediocre. Every decision they make is wrong.
