Surely Getsy gets the Thursday game too before getting the axe. I know scheme won't change, but can you really install a new OC on a short week?

I mean I'm sure Janocko can do a short week install without making massive changes, and then use mini bye to actually tweak things.

But I bet if changes happen they let TNF air out due to the calendar benefits

Will the Bears get booed right out the tunnel?  There's a very good chance, in any case, the cascade of boos will really ramp up after they go three and out on their first series consisting of three runs.  I do believe if Justin has any chance at all it's not with Getsy as the OC so, I'm torn between wanting see anything positive or a horsefeathers show that gets him fired.

Yes, I suspect the boos will start around 1145am and end at 3:10pm. I hope the McCaskeys are shown on the jumbo tron too

It's not inconceivable that Fields turns it around and puts together a few good games, and suddenly the season feels, like, wayyyyy less Doom and Gloomy.

Unlikely, maybe, and the trend lines are going in the wrong direction, but its definitely not *inconceivable*.

I think the thing I'm most disappointed in is the coaching, honestly. I was just as optimistic as anyone else about Fields and thus, as crushingly disappointed with his start as anyone else, but man. I think we've seen enough of the coaches to know that they have no idea what the hell is going on, even if they're put in a tough position by the talent on the roster.

The problems with this team look a lot worse than a few tweaks here and there. But, it is a fast moving game and I suppose anything is possible. I'd love to see Fields turn it on this week, but I still think they lose in a shootout if the Bears do figure it out offensively. Mims, Jeudy and Sutton will be tough for a bunch of second and/or third string defensive backs to stop.

Going into this season, I really thought a combo of Moore, Mooney, Claypool and Kmet would be enough fire power to make their standard points be in the 20+ range every game, regardless of the defense and regardless of any OLine deficiencies. Add in Fields' running ability and a strong RB room and I'm speechless that they found a way to screw this up. Now, I don't have faith or confidence in them to string together 3 first downs in the same drive.

It's perfectly... Get-offense-on-track-able.

I don't think the D can make enough stops or get other offenses off the field.

Defense only gave up 20 to Baker Mayfield bucs.  It's not good, but it's not *so* bad that they can't possibly beat other bad NFL teams.

This is probably one of those stats that needs more context around it before you can knock a QB for it right?  Like on its own, especially in college with 3 man rushes and stuff, time to throw doesn't mean slow to process.  But if slow to process is a concern then time to throw can be used as evidence to support this concern.

Hell, I'll go one farther.  There's three bad football teams coming up on the schedule.  There's like a 3% they take up on Oct. 16 at 3-3.

There's a much larger chance that they're 0-6, of course.

If they can’t beat Denver, I don’t know how they score enough to beat any team. It’s the NFL so, it’s possible but this game is important.

I'd put Russ/Broncos ahead of that grouping

Yea, I mean the Vegas / ESPN power index odds put it at something like 45%.   So the actual Vegas/Analytic odds do probably put a 3-7% odds to run off 3 straight. But basically all of that built in is a major change to the way they've been playing.

Claypool a healthy scratch.

Finally, the Bears grew some and did what they should have done after week 1, don't expect St. Brown to make any impact.  However, at least, he'll give maximum effort.

Watched some encouraging tape on Dexter, he's coming along, he drawing two blockers on nearly every snap he plays. KC had two blockers on him yet, he was able to make some plays.  The unfortunate part is it's coming slowly, therefore, everyone is going to write him off as another Poles failure.  By the end of season and into 2024 there's a chance he's going to make an impact.  I wonder, in comparison is Carter, being doubled as frequently?  Many of the highlights looks as if he's one on one, makes sense given the rest of the Eagles D-line.

To me, it's the last chance for Fields to show he has anything. This is a worse defense than the Bears in many categories. If he can't put it together today, it's over for him.
