It is stops at Hernandez this is a good move. I like this. Now get a bat and let’s go….. Cabrera was my preferred choice of a pitcher in the off season so they can add a bat as a FA.

Also for anyone who doesn't frequent the minor league forum I'm not joking or exaggerating on the Hernandez thing I have receipts

I'm somewhat concerned that we have pretty much identical top 4s. I thought I was the only one riding the Southisene hype train.

Official...and no pitcher included at all??

The Marlins' rotation depth in the minors is DEEP. Lot of interesting SP prospects especially at the top of the minors. I never expected they'd want pitchers in this deal.

Owen Caissie, Christian Hernández and Edgardo de León is not too shabby.

The deadline asking price was Caissie and Wiggins.

Nice. Love it.

This could be me an Owen Caissie. I've been begging the Cubs to draft Owen Caissie since 2020 - they didn't.

Then I begged them to trade for Owen Caissie in the Darvish deal...and they did.

Then they pulled the rug out from under me right when I thought he was going to be a starter for the Cubs.

Boyd, Horton, Cabrera, Shota, Taillon, Rea, Wicks, Brown, Assad, and (eventually) Steele and Wiggins is nice depth. Given options, Steele’s injury recovery timing, Wiggins’ readiness, etc., is keeping all of them possible, or are we likely to see one or more of them moved?

This feels light even as someonewho adores Hernandez.  If you asked me yesterday what this would cost I'd have said something very similar PLUS Assad or Wicks.

Love the deal.  No Wicks/Assad/Brown in the trade gives the team flexibility and rotation depth to open the season.  Hernandez was one of those guys who went from massively overhyped to quietly underhyped, and Edgardo DeLeon is a lottery ticket (albeit an intriguing one).  Losing Caissie sucks, but he needs regular playing time and I just didn't see it happening for him on this team next season.

Now go get a big ticket bat so we can call it an offseason.

I was way off in terms of the value the Marlins were going to get.  Hoyer  inding a way to keep Alacantra/Long/Wicks/Assad/Brown as depth or chips is great.

Caissie was #1 on my prospect list, and I think he will have a substantial major league career,  but I've coveted Cabrera for a long time.  He is a #1 in the making.  This deal just makes so much sense for both organizations.
