    Eh, fun to beat up on rookies I guess but I’ll be more excited if we can get through a whole game without giving up a HR or if the bullpen was able to hold a 1 run lead.

    Our pitch lab is just AI videos of Rick Sutcliff giving words of encouragement to the pitching staff.

    Can't throw money at mediocre FA and expect to fix this. We need to get better at developing pitching. The Brewers are doing this with half the payroll. If you want to flex your money pay their whole pitching infrastructure more to come to Chicago.

    This is the only game where they didn't blow a lead. Could have gone 6-1.

    We can't develop pitching and pitchers get worse when we acquire them or just flat out get hurt. The pitching infrastructure needs an overhaul.

    Webb and the bullpen problems started when Rivas hit that walk off. Part of me wonders if that broke his confidence. It would be so Cubs that a .130 hitter spiraled our season.

    You either trot out the same bums and hope someone figures it out or trot out different bums and hope someone figures it out. Neither plan is great but I’m ready to at least try something different.

    They've blown multiple games in the past couple weeks that have had a 98% chance of winning or higher.

    I mean they lost the Mariners and Reds series a couple weeks ago. This bullpen is not immune to bad teams.

    It's fine as long as you stop watching if they have a lead.

    Didn't realize how bad he was either. PCA eclipsed his career WAR like 2 months ago.

    They'll probably all suck but we gotta do something to shake it up. At least we'll have a sense of hope for like 5 mins before they eventually give up a walk off like the others.

    I'm pissed at myself for not betting on a Churio HR after that walk, it was so predictable. Live betting on the other team anytime the Cubs have a lead of 3 runs or less is free money.

    In Cubs history, a 10+ fWAR season is more rare than a World Series so whatever happens this has been an amazing season to watch.

    Yeah at the time I was pissed he didn't make the change but then understood why after the fact. A 1 run lead just isn't going to hold up with whatever options we do have.

    Ortiz is a reverse splits guy and has an 84 wRC+ against lefties. It wasn't a bad decision. Boyd just didn’t execute.
