  1. Caissie has been highly speculated but nothing is confirmed. When Jessie Rogers was on the radio earlier he said he heard from his source that Caissie has not yet been informed of a deal. Which could also mean nothing, we'll just have to wait and see. Medicals could impact secondary and tertiary pieces not necessarily the main piece.
  2. The medicals could have an impact on what the return would be which is why no names have leaked yet.
  3. Jessie Rogers on ESPN1000 just said this is pending medicals
  4. "Jed got fleeced, Cabrera sucks!"
  5. The video of Cubs fans chanting "Trey Mancini!" during bingo night at the Cubs convention lives rent free in my head every off season.
  6. He couldn't even make the team. We dodged a bullet! /s
  7. That is random....
  8. As long as its not a 1 year opt out
  9. He was there last year. It's the 10 year WS anniversary so he should show up. But maybe he knows he'll get boo'd and won't.
  10. I kinda hope they don't sign someone before Cubs convention. Maybe the fans will boo Ricketts. It would be embarrassing for him to get bood at the 10 year WS anniversary.
  11. No such thing as a bad 1 year deal imo. That opt out doesn't scare me but I know Tom's not paying it. The biggest problem we have now is the path to a good offseason just became even more difficult. We're not gonna outbid anyone for Bregman and Gallen is risky, comes with a QO, and might want an opt out as well. Both of which Jed is afraid of. A trade is probably the best we can hope for but they're more difficult to pull off than just giving someone money.
  12. If he's good he'll be out of the Cubs price range or want too many years.
  13. Copy and paste for the next guy we miss on
  14. Yeah there's no way in hell PTR is paying a posting fee for 1 year.
  15. To me that means they should make a stronger effort to try to win it all this year because of the upcoming potential strike and roster turnover.
  16. Couldn't they have offered him a QO if he opted out afyer year 1?
  17. I'm disappointed but not surprised
  18. I got these two posts on draft ready to go. "Hoyer is such an idiot for signing Imai, he was bidding against himself. Nobody else even wanted him!" "Hoyer is such an idiot for not signing Imai, he was right there for the taking. He'll never land the big fish!"
  19. Speak of the devil. The White Sox are just taking shots at high risk high reward players and hoping someone sticks, as they should be.
  20. I think who signs him makes a difference too. Like if a contending team ends up signing him I'll be upset we didn't offer more. But if it's a bottom feeder team that signs him I'll assume the Cubs and other contenders just weren't interested. A team like the White Sox can afford to take a risk if he sucks.
  21. @Jason Ross do you have any theories on why Gallen fell off so badly last year? Looks like his velocity stayed the same. Is it a mechanical issue?
  22. Probably contemplating returning to Japan since the White Sox are the only team interested
