Caissie has been highly speculated but nothing is confirmed. When Jessie Rogers was on the radio earlier he said he heard from his source that Caissie has not yet been informed of a deal. Which could also mean nothing, we'll just have to wait and see. Medicals could impact secondary and tertiary pieces not necessarily the main piece. -

He was there last year. It's the 10 year WS anniversary so he should show up. But maybe he knows he'll get boo'd and won't.

I kinda hope they don't sign someone before Cubs convention. Maybe the fans will boo Ricketts. It would be embarrassing for him to get bood at the 10 year WS anniversary.

No such thing as a bad 1 year deal imo. That opt out doesn't scare me but I know Tom's not paying it. The biggest problem we have now is the path to a good offseason just became even more difficult. We're not gonna outbid anyone for Bregman and Gallen is risky, comes with a QO, and might want an opt out as well. Both of which Jed is afraid of. A trade is probably the best we can hope for but they're more difficult to pull off than just giving someone money.

To me that means they should make a stronger effort to try to win it all this year because of the upcoming potential strike and roster turnover.

Speak of the devil. The White Sox are just taking shots at high risk high reward players and hoping someone sticks, as they should be.

I think who signs him makes a difference too. Like if a contending team ends up signing him I'll be upset we didn't offer more. But if it's a bottom feeder team that signs him I'll assume the Cubs and other contenders just weren't interested. A team like the White Sox can afford to take a risk if he sucks.

@Jason Ross do you have any theories on why Gallen fell off so badly last year? Looks like his velocity stayed the same. Is it a mechanical issue?
