  1. Yeah, but actually, it's their 19 year old intern who nobody knows about who is responsible for all their pitching success.
  2. This is so ridiculous. NBA Draft Pick Trey Kaufman-Renn Granted TRO for Sixth Year of NCAA Eligibility https://share.google/CJlwH2SnacrLOeohm
  3. Now PCA can't even steal because the Cubs are trailing by a million.
  4. I can guarantee you one thing. No matter how much money the Cubs have, Jed won't be shopping at the top of the market. We're going to get multiple #4ish type starters and a handful of seemingly mediocre relievers who actually turn out to be bad. $100M well spent.
  5. Not fair that the Brewers get to pitch with the invisible ball.
  6. How was it luck that they just hit the ball over the wall against the Cubs' ****** pitching staff?
  7. I would be interested to see a good angle of Shaw's read on the 10th inning pop-up. It was really hard to tell on the TV replay, but that had to be his ball.
  8. I simply don't know what you do as a manager when the late game pitching is like this. Even when you get solid starts and good performances from certain relievers (Civale), the implosion is always lurking right around the corner. There is no right answer to managing this group. This is a Jed Hoyer production and Counsell is suffering through it.
  9. Until this team figures out how to develop the endless stream of dominant relievers that everyone else has, it is going to continue to be a struggle. Say what you will about Jed's Major League roster flubs, the farm system is a disaster and that's just as big of a problem.
  10. How many consecutive blown saves is that for Webb?
  11. Amaya did a nice job of selling it. Best thing he's done in awhile.
  12. You know, if MLB just goes full time ABS, we don't have to worry about the umpire arbitrarily deciding when a challenge is allowable.
  13. Ok, I keep hearing that a relief pitcher HAS to be able to pitch back to back days to be useful and I'm getting a little tired of that narrative. There are 8+ guys in a bullpen. Is it really that critical that every single guy has to be able to pitch back to back? I understand that ideally everyone in the pen is available everyday, but that seems to be oversimplifying things a bit. I think you can afford to carry a reliever that can't pitch back to back if they can be a productive pitcher once every 2-3 days.
  14. Ohtani could absolutely hit 60+ home runs, but at 32 years old and with ongoing knee issues, his days of being a high volume stolen base threat are in the past.
  15. I don't get that either. Seriously, just challenge it.
