  1. Cubs pitchers are auditioning for roles in the 2027 home run derby.
  2. And almost as relevant as Ringo Starr having never eaten a slice of pizza!
  3. When did national broadcasts become, let's put multiple guys in the booth who are somehow tied to the teams on the field and have them go back and forth all game?
  4. The bigger question is, will he even be pitching in MLB next year? Or does he head back to Japan to finish his career?
  5. Can we maybe not count this one as an L yet with 5 innings left?
  6. I was. He's better than half the pitching staff, but "options"...
  7. I can't imagine Rizzo taking a full time broadcasting gig. There's no way Marquee would pay him enough to convince him to accept that travel schedule.
  8. I kind of get that, but it seems like a guy would make an exception for an honor like the Cubs 150 team. Is he going to immediately start chugging beers upon setting foot in Wrigley?
  9. Again no Grace? There has to be something going on with him.
  10. That pitch to Happ... Does anyone else feel like they need to shrink the strike zone just slightly?
  11. Outside of striking gold with the Webb signing, Hoyer has once again shown he has no clue how to build a bullpen.
  12. Perfect timing on that "maybe Thornton is actually good" article.
  13. Well, I'm not opposed to a 2 year deal either at a slightly more reasonable AAV. But I would think a 2 year deal is about the worst thing for Happ himself. He either takes a longer term (3+) year deal, or a 1 year deal to hopefully lead into one last longer term deal.
  14. I don't disagree with the first part, but it's the $22M+ I have a problem with.
  15. Of course he would take it. Let's not play the "call Shota's bluff" game again. Happ is not worth the QO.
  16. Welp, that's it for him then. And until they identify the root cause for why this is happening, we might as well not count on Brown for anything next year either.
