    The optimist in me says maybe it isn't the worst thing in the world. The surgically repaired ligament gets a bit of a forced break from rehab, then he still has an opportunity to contribute down the stretch and into the playoffs. It isn't ideal, but it's extra time for the ligament to fully recover before game action.

    I can't quite get used to a tiny sliver of the ball in the zone on the corner being called a strike. Those pitches always look out of the zone.

    My hope is that MLB going to make small tweaks to the zone (size/positioning) over a period of time and then implement a fully automated system once they are 100% comfortable with where things are at.

    I hate that umpires are taken off the hook because of a half-baked challenge system.

    I had a dream last night that I was playing baseball and kept getting thrown out on the bases because I was running ridiculously slow. Manny Machado is running about as well as I did in that dream.

    I wonder what a conversation with Sutcliffe is like after he just finished watching a movie. "And that part where Obi-Wan says, 'I have the high ground.' Outstanding. Just outstanding. I have seen a lot of films and I'm not sure I've ever experienced a scene written so perfectly. That just shows you why George Lucas is the absolute best in the business."
