  1. By my math, the NL Central is a combined 24 games over .500. Next closest is the NL West at 12 over.
  2. I would feel more comfortable riding Rollison for another inning, but hope we can hang on!
  3. I had to switch it back though because the volume level was so far off. I had to turn the volume way up to hear the radio broadcast, and then whenever they went to commercial it would be insanely loud.
  4. Lost in Happ getting thrown out, another absolute rocket by Ballasteros. I don't like pinch running for him here and losing his bat in a potential extra innings situation.
  5. Because our 4 hitter is Ian Happ? Not starting the Happ-bashing, but he's not exactly your ordinary middle of the lineup hitter.
  6. I had no idea! I like Apple TV much better now.
  7. They need to squeeze a few more advertisements into Dodger Stadium. Geeze, they are everywhere.
  8. If this is a "best player on the board" at all costs approach to the draft, that is a seriously flawed strategy. This isn't MLB where you draft the best players regardless of position and let things play out in the minors. These are players who are expected to contribute immediately, but will have a hard time doing so with the other players on the roster. It just doesn't make sense.
  9. At this rate, might as well grab a kicker with the next pick.
  10. I hate this draft so far.
  11. Also, I would be somewhat surprised with the revision procedure in someone Horton's age, as my understanding is that it may not have the same longetivy as a full on ligament replacement. For a pitcher in their late twenties or early thirties, it makes sense, but Horton could still have a 10+ year career ahead of him.
  12. 15-16 months is a little long for a revision repair, no?
  13. A lot of people seem to be sad at Ty leaving. I am neither surprised nor disappointed. It was very unlikely he was going to be a meaningful part of anything Illinois does over the next 2 seasons and it didn't make sense for either side for him to be back. For Illinois, why pay a guy who isn't likely to contribute? For Ty, why stay somewhere there is no room in the rotation?
  14. It would have been hard to imagine next year's team being better than the Final 4 team, but add Stojakovich and Blackwell and they are almost certainly a better team and easily a Top 5 preseason rank. Even with just Stojakovich and no Blackwell, they will still be in the conversation as a Final 4 contender.
  15. I forgot that a team has never scored 6 runs in an inning. 10-4... Everything is fair game.
  16. Don't look now, but Ballasteros is leading the team in batting average and OPS.
  17. Kingery got all of that one... and by "all of it" I mean he hit it in the air to third base, because that may be the furthest we ever see him hit a ball.
  18. This inning feels like the final inning of a little league game where we put the kids who never play infield in the infield because it doesn't matter anymore.
  19. Of course Kingery comes up to bat wearing #12 against the Phillies, just to put more salt in the wound
