I still can't quite figure out why the Dodgers are playing at 5:00 tomorrow and the Cubs  are playing at 8:00 (if the Phillies win tonight).  Why would you play two games at 3:00 and 8:00 local times rather than flip them and play at 5:00 and 6:00 local time?

They figure the dodgers and Phillies get better ratings in the eastern time zone, which is all they really care about

And they don't care that the West Coast ratings will be substantially lower at 3:00?  I would be interested to see how that math actually works out.

God I hope Peralta starts tomorrow. I feel he will have a bad start.

You are going to get your wish, I believe. But who starts for the Cubs?

Rea / Brown / <insert>

Mashup?

Rea threw 60 pitches on Monday. He isn’t starting tomorrow. The people criticizing Counsel for pitching Boyd on 3 days rest are some of the same people wanting Rea to pitch on 2 days rest. Kind of ridiculous. Might see Civali and Brown, however.

I think it will be Boyd. Hopefully is Wrigley success can continue.

Cubs win, Yankees eliminated, this is turning out to be a good night.

Last time the Jays were in the ALCS was 2016.

ITS A SIGN!

Expecting eastern time zone people to consider the west coast at all is too much

Have to throw Boyd. What are the options?

I'd throw anyone but.  Brown + Civale plus rest of pen, whomever.  Rea etc in Game 5.

At best I think they should use an opener and use Boyd for 1 inning max if there's a spot in the lineup where guys haven't hit him this series/ season.

Baseball is so stupid with these game times. The NBA isn’t scheduling a Lakers playoff game at 3 pm local time during the week. Not totally the same thing since the Lakers can’t play an Eastern team until the finals. But they could play teams in the Central time zone.

Just have the Dodgers play at 6 pm. Sorry Philly fans, but teams in other sports deal with it just fine.

I’m sad Schwarber isn’t a cub anymore

the last member of the 2016 crew still standing, and the only one we should have held onto

Unless you are a fanboy, no one looks at Baez since joining the Tigers and goes, "Damn. I really miss that guy!"

Technically, so is Kris Bryant since he hasn't retired yet.

Has it been confirmed he can still actually physically stand?

More a response to Schwarber being the last man standing from the 2016 team. Javy is still playing and also in the playoffs. I don’t miss him on the team, but do like that he is doing well now with the Tigers.

I know I'm 20 pages late but can we maybe have playoff threads v Brewers & not have the Brewer site guy start the threads? don't think I'm being superstitious. just why not? Cub time man.

This is gross and homophobic

No one who has ever said “horsefeathers me” on the internet, actually means it.

I'm way late on this but did I see Big Z throw out the first pitch today? Has he kissed and made up with everyone?

Probably my favorite cub of the Jim Henry era. During the lovable loser Cubbie era fans cleared the jersey racks for Theriot and Fukudome jerseys over more productive core players like Ramirez and Big Z which baffled me.
