Excuse me? Based on his body language. Are you calling me a racist or something? 😂 GTFO with that nonsense, and don't listen to that fool who makes up weird conspiracy theories about me in his own nutty head. PCA has also been overconfident and it's affected his play, wtf does ethnicity have to do with that?
Because i believe it to be true, and it probably contributes to high chase % What i said didn't have anything to do with his performance against deGrom, as i mentioned. And it was true before his slump.
I'm not going to criticize the guy against deGrom, but Mo is definitely overly aggressive generally. A bit too cocky for his own good. Hopefully he adjusts.
Does he though? It's above-average stuff for sure, but hitters tee off on both his fastballs. Makes it difficult to succeed if you can't establish your fb. His velo is also down this year and was down even more this start.
I wouldn't trade Shaw for a SP rental. Would be really nice to have a Peralta type but pitchers get hurt frequently as we've seen. I'm not trading key position player assets for a pitcher unless they're clearly expendable, which Shaw isnt.
I think Hoyer has been very wise to pin most of our money/resources on position players.
I'm completely shocked at how much he's improved his swing decisions lately. Looks like a whole new hitter. If he keeps it up the sky is the limit for him.
At least we have Brown and Assad, those are solid options probably as good as any trade we could make right now. We should know much more on Steele and Boyd's situation by the trade deadline so until then Hoyer can probably focus on bolstering the pen.
Wicks has been back throwing in Iowa. The stats on just about every pitcher in Iowa are horrible. Need more depth.
I was very impressed by the Padres catcher who ran after a loose ball in the dirt while tapping his head with a runner at 3rd because he had to get the challenge off.
If everyone else is healthy come Oct we have Shota, Boyd, Cabrera as SP 1-3 for the playoffs. Id take anything from Steele that's better than Taillon/Rae as our 4th.
Not sure if mentioned in last night's thread but Taylor said during last broadcast that Palencia was doing some throwing off a mound and may be back in about a week.
At the beginning of the broadcast Taylor said it's a flexor in his throwing arm, had imaging done, his repaired elbow/UCL is fine, but CC said Steele won't be back until after the ASB.
Was previously on pace for about early June return.
