Admittedly haven’t looked at any numbers on him so this all anecdotal, but he seemed to be a lot worse in year two. Obviously made some questionable decisions off the field but now he plays fundamentally unintelligent baseball on the field.

Two wild stats I found looking on Fangraphs to emphasize how insane the Cubs position players were… In the ten full seasons before this year, the 28th ranked team by pitching Fwar (which the Cubs had) averaged 95.1 losses. The worst of those teams, the 47-115 2018 Orioles, had 7.1. The Cubs had 6.0 this year. Lol.

May be more prudent to fix the pitching from a coaching standpoint before investing major money (please Ricketts). Yes there was a lack of high end talent this year but it wasn’t just injury replacements that were bad. Guys that came into the team at the deadline were generally pretty terrible. Guys who were in the plan from February had some really bad stretches, starter or reliever. At some point it might be something the Cubs are doing if essentially every arm they touch becomes terrible.

People will rightfully be upset but its not Boyd or anyone else on the mound tonight’s fault that their agent convinced an MLB team to give them a contract.

I would do the same thing I did in 2021 and 2022 and before 2015 lol, what kind of question is that. I would disagree that I lose my mind when the Cubs lose, you massively overestimate how I feel based on nothing but words. Saying “X player is awful”, doesn’t mean my evening is ruined, theres no emotion there. Theres nothing wrong with saying someone sucks if they suck, I get destroyed if I make mistakes in my job, blowing up at the bullpen is kind of part of the fun in its own way. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hate watching minor league talent wear major league uniforms, im going to call out the pitching until they play like big leaguers.

Thats irrelevant to what Im saying though, I don’t care about how many games it takes to determine who should/shouldnt be in the playoffs, I want to watch my team play as many games as possible.

Maybe you don’t actually like sports that much then. Being able to watch your team almost daily is part of the appeal to me.

Because I enjoy watching baseball games and I don’t want to lose out on opportunities to do so because people who don’t like baseball want there to be fewer baseball games.

Insane take. Longer spring training is fine but 162 needs to be non negotiable.
