not even exaggerating...was there a team in MLB with a worse deadline than the cubs?

castro hitting .147

kittredge single-handedly lost them that one game, but has otherwise been fine i guess

rogers has barely pitched but has been fine

soroka broke after two innings

and that's just the guys they got. not even factoring in moves they didn't make. just a complete and total F-.

He should run his happy ass hard to first if he doesn't want to be booed.  And any player worth his salt isn't going to be mad about the booing in a situation like that because he knows he deserves it.  If you think that guy's feelings are so fragile that a little booing is going to chase him away if the Cubs offer the best deal you don't understand how athlete's brains work.

Well said!! Thank you - the other guy commenting about his fragility and how that may deter him has no idea that it’s part of it - when I do a poor job at work my boss sure as hell tells me about it

Kittridge also destroyed Horton’s scoreless streak.

Irrelevant given the batting slump that is in progress.

Runs scored by the Cubs at Wrigley in recent games:

0 (through 5), 4, 3, 2, 6, 1, 2, 5, 3, 1, 4, 6, 4, 1, 6, 4

2.7 runs per game over the last 16 home games

For comparison, they averaged 4.9 runs per game over their 16 home games prior to that.

Would have been worse to give up Horton or Shaw or Ballesteros for Alcantara and him get blown up also.
