  1. I did see that he had two line outs, so solid contact is always a plus. As @Geographyhater8888 stated, his plate discipline and appearances has been much improved. What’s impressed me and most fans lately, is the growth, production, and maturity of Ben Brown.
  2. Definitely better plate appearances for sure from the last couple games I was able to watch. I missed today’s game due to a blackout market game (I live near Philly), so I missed the catches. His glove is elite to say the least, but his overall hitting or lack thereof is concerning. Then again - the whole horsefeathers team is struggling. @Rcal10 called me on it too - I’m just bitching and venting. Ugh - onward I guess
  3. If you would have said that a year ago I would have died laughing……a lot can change in a few weeks huh? I agree - he’s a positive takeaway. PCA long term contract isn’t aging well, along with some others. This team is in a full on freefall.
  4. They'll be there in no time. Most likely stay there too. People can say the whole, “it’s only the end of -May - relax” nonsense. It’s a third of the way through the season. No signs of life - pitching staff in disarray and simply put….,they’re just not that good. They had their streak of wins. 70-75 win team. I’d be cool to see them turn it around, but they’re just not built for it with injuries and management.
  5. Suzuki pisses me off - how many times with two strikes and it’s close he sits and watches it. Go down swinging! Protect the horsefeathers plate - this is horsefeathers they teach little leaguers
  6. They would offer to cover their travel costs there and back
  7. Whatever comes from this game - good on you, Ben Brown! Great work
  8. I just glanced at Miz’s stats - dude has nine strikeouts after 4.0 innings. Kid is a machine. That would be cool to have a shutdown Ace. 🤔
  9. I gave my buddy some solid fantasy baseball advice: Just pick up ANY pitcher that is facing the Cubs on the waiver and you should be set for the foreseeable future. Sad, but true. This has to end soon, right? Right?
  10. Why do I have this overwhelming feeling of “same horsefeathers different day?” It’s like Groundhog’s Day with this team the last 14 games
  11. When you get runners on base but can move them across the plate that’s an issue - small ball comes in handy at certain times. They sure as hell aren’t hitting for slug either lol. How about we agree on this: there is a horsefeathers ton wrong with this team? More than small ball or slugging
  12. Seriously lol - Shota had 3-4 solid starts. He’s our “Ace” by default, so I think it’s fair to say, this season’s outlook is bleak to say it nicely
  13. PCA showing some great plate discipline - gotta look for the positives during a funk I guess
  14. All it takes is a little spark 🔥
  15. Absolutely! It’ll wake these vets up a bit too! Success breeds success, so wtf you have to lose by letting these young guys get some quality ABs? F it
  16. Yes!!! 🙌 I was waiting for a post with this reference. Hats off to you sir
  17. That’s how you shake horsefeathers up in lineup - let the youngins eat
  18. Not gonna lie - I thought the same thing. I know last year a couple guys got pulled early due to a blister- understandable. May even sit out one time through their spot in the rotation. Getting put on a 15-day IL?! wtf 😂 Probably something they aren’t sharing - has to be more, right? 🤷‍♂️
  19. I said something around 75-80 to start the year. Do they have promise? Of course they do. They showed that during those two 10 game streaks they had; however, what I’ve been saying is they are either on fire or straight horsefeathers - no middle ground with them. That isn’t a sign of a healthy team. Yes, baseball is about ebb and flow - but between the pitching (SP&pen), and their bats being this hot or cold, I don’t see them winning the division that’s for sure. I really hope they can turn it around - this is brutal
  20. I agree with what they said about the middle stretch (20-3), and how ridiculous it is. You’re right - doesn’t make it any more frustrating to watch this. Baseball is an up and down (ebb and flow) sport. However, with that said, it is concerning to me about the inconsistency this team has shown so far this season. All teams (Dodgers, Yankees, Braves) go through a lull at times in the season. It just seems like the Cubs are one extreme or the other - not a sign of a contender IMO.
  21. Yeah - obviously they all want to hit more than we want them to, but there comes a point when you just have to stop relying on slug and be aggressive on the bases, bunt, move runners, etc. Just tough to watch right now
