I am upset at the fact that I cannot decipher whether they’re tanking on purpose, or they are this dog horsefeathers right now. Counsell literally had a smirk on his face during the post game interview after their first loss today, and I began to think, “I never really see Counsell smile. “ is there something I’m missing? You would think there would be a better sense of urgency with the fact that you could’ve secured a home-field advantage for the first round, but I guess they are quite content being mediocre and qualifying for the playoffs.

I have been saying the last two series that this team at this point is the team from middle of May to the end of May when they went on that horrendous nose dive. It would be a miracle if they make it past the first round. Could they? Absolutely will they I highly doubt it with this horsefeathers performance that I’ve seen the last week and a half

Whelp - lol that is all. Sit your guys tomorrow and get your horsefeathers together. Pitchers did their jobs today. Hitters have been utterly useless the past 2-3 series. Again…….San Diego or Atlanta here we come. 🤷♂️🤦♂️

I don’t think they’re “content with just making the postseason.”………all of you have been watching this last week too - this team right now is Mid-to-Late May team right now: - lack of moving runners & horrendoualy terrible average with RISP - Personally, I am extremely concerned with this team regardless of WHERE they play or WHO it is against. They have the potential to win the whole damn thing, but I’m seeing an early out next week.

I prefer going to Atlanta given our history against them this year. I think we can hit their pitching and I think we match up better overall. Maybe that is why Anthony Rizzo suggested the Cubs tank to get a shot at Atlanta versus the other ones that are hot right now.

So, with that loss, are we playing in San Diego or Atlanta? two games left even if we win both we might have a shot at Homefield, but it is not looking good at all at this point.

That Phillies loss is big for sure - puts us one full game play the tie breaker, which is nice. Now if the Dodgers can take care of business that would be sweet. Home field would be fantastic -
Not arguing that - it “could” happen, but highly unlikely as I said. Right now the bats are looking like they did mid to late May and it’s a bit concerning. They won 10 straight (twice), but also lost 10 straight, so the way they’re playing in the peak part of the season looks like the team we watched in May is what I’m saying

It will not be surprising if the bottom completely falls out and they miss out on the postseason - not likely, but even if they make it in, what’re they going to do? Early out from what I see

Yep - I was saying the same thing. This is May all over again. They did lose ten straight during the year - yes they did win 10 straight twice….but these bats worry me a lot right now. 0-20 with RISP lately
