  1. As good as this team has been throughout the year, especially from their hitting and defensive aspects of the game, it is just so defeating to know that you just don’t have the pitching to get you over that hump. Personally, I do not think we will fare better than last year. They should make the playoffs, but I do not think they’ll secure home field first round. I don’t think the pitching can go toe to toe with either the Phillies, Braves, or the Dodgers. Anything can happen, but I just don’t see the woes going away in that department.
  2. That’s what I’m saying!! That was ridiculous
  3. And again…….Put up a few runs, Boyd pitches well and then a lame arm comes in and gets rocked. I don’t see that improving over the next month or so. Bats and defense can only keep them in games for so long with lame ducks in the bullpen
  4. Boyd has pitched well, but this isn’t looking to good here (to say the least)
  5. Yeah, he broke out for one game last night and has been abysmal lately
  6. It’s funny when you ask, but it’s sad that many of us fans are asking it as a literal question. Can never trust this bullpen. No lead is safe
  7. Or Rolison to mess up a great game. He’s really crapped down his leg a lot lately
  8. That helps lol Holmes goes 5 or 6 (pushing it), so what’s the bullpen look like tonight?
  9. Holmes’ pitch count is what is concerning me
  10. That is exactly what I’m saying too - Cubs can go toe to toe with anyone as far as offense and defense, but their pitching is pure horsefeathers. Name one starter or reliever you would feel fully confident going against any one of those teams you just mentioned……maybe Holmes? That is it for me. Can’t throw him every horsefeathers game lol
  11. This team’s pitching will most likely not improve enough to secure the top wild card seed IMO. They have the bats and could hang with anyone. Season isn’t over, but personally, what I have witnessed from this pitching staff is not going to improve is my point. I truly believe they will have a very difficult time making the postseason. If they do, which statistically shows they will, they would travel to Philly, LA or Atlanta. Not good lol - 🤷‍♂️
  12. At this point, they need to be concerned about making the postseason at all. At first it was: - catch the brewers (well that ship sailed) - secure the Wild card top seed (whelp, that is going away as early as tonight or tomorrow) - make the postseason (we shall see with 26 games left and this fuckin pitching staff) so disgusted with this pitching staff
  13. And again…..he needs to just be done. Philly will pass them for the top wild card by tomorrow
