Well, at least I can start enjoying the fun bad part of the season because expectations at this point are in the toilet.  I kinda hope they get swept so i can just continue to laugh and not have to waste my time on this dumpster fire anymore.  Unreal how quickly this thing has gone south.

Haven't seen a collapse so rapid and complete since they detonated the WTC

The most Brewers inning in history.

That's how they've played since May. Every single dribbler and check swing finds holes and the opposing team makes inexplicably bad decisions, etc. Everything that can go right for them has, every inning. You walk the leadoff man or make an error? the Brewers WILL pay off on it.

I mean, the Cubs will end the day either tied or alone in the first wild card spot and haven't lost more than 3 games in a row all year. Rapid and complete probably aren't the words I would use to describe it.

Whatever, it's still an out and he's still in a slump.  Booing won't change a thing.  There has been plenty of booing through the years at Wrigley and the Cubs have still mostly disappointed .  Your feelings don't matter when it comes to the outcome of a sporting event.  Surely you must have realized this by now?

I agree with your comment - yes I do realize it. No control whatsoever. Just simply stating that fans, like you too pal, get frustrated and if they boo they boo. Part of the game. Surely you must have realized this by now?

If you look at the offense and not the somehow 19-18 record over the last 37 games because the pitching has been so good, I'd call it a massive collapse.

Cubs blown out, Everton loses on a controversial last minute PK.  What a start to the day.  Why do I bother with sports? lol

I'm well aware it's the definition of insanity to keep doing this, especially at this exact moment, so, apologies, but in that 37 game stretch you're citing, the Cubs offense is 21st in wRC and 15th in overall fWAR.

(edit: can't help it, and 28th in BABIP)

I wonder how long this goes on before a hitting coach is sacrificed at the altar.

Can't be long.  And 2 months ago he was the guy that turned PCA into a superstar.  Baseball can bring pain.

Good things sometimes happen when you dont chase, when you swing at strikes, when you rarely whiff, when you hit it where its pitched, etc etc.

They have literally doubled our offensive output this month, so let's stop pitching about the curiosities. They have a 156 to our 74. They have 34 doubles, we have 16. They have 28 HR, we have 12.

Our hitters are predictable and have made themselves easy to defend. The 4 seams have dropped dramatically and none of our guys can slug a sweeper or a changeup.

Cubs swing at a lot of strikes, and pop them up, roll them over, or just swing through them.

I still can't believe Jed got an extension for building this pile of crap.

Jed gambled that he had a viable 3B and enough starters to get the job done. Since the deadline Shaw is a top hitter in the league and the rotation has the best ERA. What could he have done to prevent 5 guys going from 850 OPS to 500?
