  1. 🚨🚨🚨both sides alert, I repeat, both sides alert 🚨🚨🚨
  2. I'd definitely take Boozer over Peterson. I think, especially in basketball where one guy can have so much impact on results, that players who are "winners" have a leg up on other guys. Jalen Brunson and the whole UConn crew on the Knicks is a good example. Wagler won in high school and look what happened at Illinois last year. It's not the end all be all, but I definitely think it's a not insignificant factor in what kind of results you see in terms of winning.
  3. Sure, let's lose out on a couple years of guys like Griffey, Kerry Wood, and Bryce Harper in the name of saving a few million dollars. I hate baseball owners so much.
  4. In Boog's defense, Girardi thinks and says a lot of really dumb horsefeathers so it's hard to blame him for that.
  5. It broke the previous season record of .311, so it absolutely was ridiculous.
  6. And sometimes it just doesn't matter. The 2012 Cardinals set an MLB record by hitting .330 with RISP, were 2nd in the NL in scoring, and 6th in ERA and still only finished with 88 wins because sometimes baseball just baseballs.
  7. They're clearly screwed. Nobody has scored on this pitcher all year.
  8. Look at you leaving out important context (as usual)! Now, Bregman has been absolute ass with RISP, but you can't just go using a raw number like that and not also include the fact that those guys have had literally the most opportunities with RISP so naturally they're going to have the most left on base. Nico is 10th, Dansby 30th, and Seiya is tied with 5 others at 45th on this list.
  9. Between the BABIP that's been mentioned and the brain damage that hopefully clears up soon, I don't think there's any real concern there.
  10. @PeanutPunch33 don't take all this as some unflappable endorsement of Jed, but let's use some actual logic and reason to make the criticisms. The facts are the pitching hasn't been good enough and the pitching draft/development in the minors hasn't given them enough ammo to use at the MLB level. Nobody is going to deny that, but complaining about FA contracts that have produced good value vs dollars spent and not understanding how tanking works now are just paths you can't go down without a whole bunch of evidence to support your argument. I think the fact that the Brewers have been so good (and let's be honest, had a horseshoe up their ass for 6 weeks last season) and are somehow churning out talent left and right with a much lower payroll affects how we all perceive what's happening, but nobody else besides them and the Rays seem to be able to do these things consistently and can't figure out what the secret sauce is.
  11. Please show all of the contracts that have provided less value than dollars spent.
  12. You realize that the rules are completely different now than they were when Theo did that and it's a much more difficult gambit at this point right? Also, this is the Sox record since 2013. Hard pass.
  13. The fact that he probably should have gotten an additional couple of starts at Iowa before even being considered for the MLB roster has to be taken into account too. Unfortunately, injury timing didn't allow that to happen. I'm not done with him, but the likelihood of him even being a viable back end of the rotation guy is dwindling quickly.
  14. Okay, but who? You can't just say they should have grabbed a 2B and move on with the criticism without a viable solution.
