  1. but have you heard about webb’s reverse splits? good job offense.
  2. feels like the cubs horsefeathers suck at deciding when to challenge
  3. shaw’s only redeeming quality (as a player and a person) was his 3b defense. since he never plays there now, he’s just a ****** hitter and ****** outfielder/1b/whatever.
  4. I don’t know if “worried” is the word but there has not been really anything good to say about the first 14 games. injuries, literally nobody hitting well except for Nico, bullpen has been garbage. guess the remaining healthy starters have been fine, but I feel like they’re lucky to even by 6-8 with how poorly they’ve played. if they play like this against the tough part of the schedule coming up, they are going to dig themselves a big hole.
  5. that obstruction call was the most "look at me" call i've seen from an ump in a while. wow.
  6. he’s a 32 year old journeyman middle reliever that sucked all spring and has sucked so far this year. he’s fine as the team’s 6th best reliever or whatever, but come on with acting like he’s really good or something. there’s a reason he signed a 1/$1.5 mil contract.
  7. “jacob webb has reverse splits” does not equal “jacob webb is good.”
  8. lost a game that was blown (twice) by the bullpen without using their two highest paid relievers. not ideal.
  9. unless Harvey and maton were both hurt/sick, this was really, really, really bad bullpen management.
  10. why is the 5th best reliever pitching the 8th inning of a one run game
  11. can’t wait for 3 weeks from now when brown looks awesome in a no leverage, long relief spot and everyone gets tricked into thinking he’s good again and then he immediately blows his first high leverage spot for the 27th time in his cub career.
  12. we better not have a hector neris situation on our hands with this dude
  13. eh, the chances of them losing to a 10 seed in the 2nd round by 2 points after going 8-17 on FTs is still quite high.
  14. I agree the cubs would probably be better off trading prospect capital for cabrera than signing imai to a possible one year deal, and they still have time, but I have my doubts they’re gonna do that.
  15. so it’s better to give a lesser guy a spot in the rotation and win fewer games in the name of i guess staggering free agency better? the object is to win games.
  16. lol what? sorry we can’t sign a guy to a one year deal/deal with an opt out, as that would leave us with too many expiring contracts after next year so instead we’ll sign nobody.* *I realize they could still sign/trade for somebody but they’re running out of options.
  17. blowing their one year of tucker stings a lot less now that it appears as though he’s just pretty good and not like “top 5 hitter in the game” elite.
  18. the failure at the trade deadline kept this team from having a chance to do something special. there is obv a very small difference between these two teams and that difference manifested itself tonight by the brewers having a guy that throws 100+ be their bulk guy while the cubs depended on 35 year old journeyman colin rea. just an unacceptably bad job by the front office, as usual.
