  1. why is the 5th best reliever pitching the 8th inning of a one run game
  2. can’t wait for 3 weeks from now when brown looks awesome in a no leverage, long relief spot and everyone gets tricked into thinking he’s good again and then he immediately blows his first high leverage spot for the 27th time in his cub career.
  3. we better not have a hector neris situation on our hands with this dude
  4. eh, the chances of them losing to a 10 seed in the 2nd round by 2 points after going 8-17 on FTs is still quite high.
  5. I agree the cubs would probably be better off trading prospect capital for cabrera than signing imai to a possible one year deal, and they still have time, but I have my doubts they’re gonna do that.
  6. so it’s better to give a lesser guy a spot in the rotation and win fewer games in the name of i guess staggering free agency better? the object is to win games.
  7. lol what? sorry we can’t sign a guy to a one year deal/deal with an opt out, as that would leave us with too many expiring contracts after next year so instead we’ll sign nobody.* *I realize they could still sign/trade for somebody but they’re running out of options.
  8. blowing their one year of tucker stings a lot less now that it appears as though he’s just pretty good and not like “top 5 hitter in the game” elite.
  9. the failure at the trade deadline kept this team from having a chance to do something special. there is obv a very small difference between these two teams and that difference manifested itself tonight by the brewers having a guy that throws 100+ be their bulk guy while the cubs depended on 35 year old journeyman colin rea. just an unacceptably bad job by the front office, as usual.
  10. fitting that the nail in the coffin comes courtesy of the crown jewel of the disaster trade deadline
  11. lol dansby that was horsefeathers pathetic. two innings of their well rested, best reliever incoming.
  12. lol Kittredge is like “how can I make the Phillies pitcher feel better about his horsefeathers up?”
  13. 1st and 2nd, no outs with 3-4-5 up vs the softest part of their pen that cubs are gonna see the rest of the game and not scoring is how you lose a game like this.
  14. hope that’s not the defining ab of Tucker’s cub career
  15. scoring multiple runs off this dork or making him throw so many pitches that he can’t cover 4 innings was the key to winning and the cubs haven’t done it.
  16. brewers would be crazy to not start a lefty to at least try to slow down busch for one ab (or push him down the lineup). and I realize he took a lefty deep tonight.
  17. castro sucks at hitting, shaw sucks at hitting. even though he’s had his shaky moments, shaw is better defensively. this isn’t that complicated.
  18. wild to see a guy light $100-200 mil on fire like tucker has done the last 3 months.
  19. rarely see a manager make such obviously poor decisions that actively hurt a team in the postseason. and he’s allegedly the best manager in the game.
  20. my goodness counsell has been atrocious since his WC game 1 A+ effort.
