This is the last game where a single win could return any sense of sanity or normalcy to the Bears season.  The amount of goodwill a win against the Packers to get back to .500 would buy back would be hilarious.

Not that I expect that to happen. Packers -5.5 feels like an insane line to me.  That's the line I would have expected before the last three weeks when everything imploded.   The Packers scare me more than they did at the start of the season, they just refuse to look bad.  Their defense is opportunistic at creating turnovers more than any defense we've faced, this could easily be the week I get my wish about Williams throwing more INTs.

The good news is that Jones and Wright were full participants in practice today, which lines them up to play Sunday.  You can kick Pryor back inside and not be starting Doug Kramer. That should at least get us back to regular bad and not "9 sacks against the Patriots" bad.

I'm super curious about what looks different with a new OC.  Nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong that the playcalling complaints are overstated and a new OC suddenly makes them look good.  Will we see different personnel patterns?  Different types of plays called?  Will the veteran WRs stop looking like they'r sleepwalking?

My best guess is none of that and the Bears get stomped by 20+, but my guesses haven't been worth poop outside of the Carolina game so who knows.

The -5.5 line is making me look all over for promo codes so I can wager a huge amount of money on the Packers honestly

To me the books are baiting people to take the Packers. Fun fact, before the Patriots debacle the Packers were -2.5 vs the Bears so does the line really need to move 3 points? Crossing the key number of 3 but just below the 3rd most key number in 6?

Isn't a 5.5 point line for the visiting team a pretty huge spread? Does home field still count for 3 points?

I don't do any betting, so not sure how outrageous this is, maybe not at all

Packers will win, and probably by more than a TD.  I don’t gamble as a rule though.  If I did I’d definitely take GB and the points.

You’d take GB and GIVE the points

According to the experts, it's much less than the +3 it's been for years and varies a bit based on what home stadium you're looking at.  Some are as low a +1 while others still sit around +2.5.

Sorry, I guess you can tell I don’t gamble on sports.

Yeah home field now is worth 1.5 tops. In this game I'd imagine it's less with all those goofs making the trek south of the cheddar curtain

For those who wanted the Bears to sign Connor Williams, myself included, well SURPRISE, Connor has decided to retire.

Sign with bears or retire? Retire it is!

That's weird. He's played every game. I wonder if it's a new injury or the old one still causing him problems.

I have no early game on Fox so I will be following along in this thread

The early vibe is yet another week where the defense sucks against the run

Scored with little to no resistance, and, of course, the Bears won't even manage a first down on their possession.  Welcome to horsefeathers show.

Given how much excitement there was about this season, I can’t believe I’m already in “half watch game in the background while I do chores” mode

Lmao all the hits on Fields and Caleb that weren’t called, can’t believe that one was. It’s not a horrible call but I’ve seen much worse not get called
