On top of all the other ways the Bears look like a horsefeathers show, this is just another thing to throw on the pile.  I get that most of the people that evaluate these things are independent but still not a great look.

And Tua saw a bunch of doctors during his time off and all of them said, “Oh you’re fine no issue if you want to keep playing football”

I'm actually happy the players are speaking out and not hiding behind anonymous reports, etc.  Let it all out there and lets try to reboot this thing and salvage the season.  I know they almost certainly won't but it's still all there right in front of us... the injured line is probably the biggest impediment to getting our horsefeathers together at this point.

OK, so who wasn't doing things the right way? Who has been making mistakes and taking things easy and wasn't being held accountable?

Based on my organized sports experience, probably almost everyone at this point.  It speaks to the larger reason why Flus shouldn't be calling the defense.  He needs to be supervising all aspects of the team and putting a boot in guy's asses if they aren't working the way they should be.  He's the guy who should ultimately be responsible for making sure everyone is doing their job and working hard and how can he do that when he's spending all his time with the defense?

Seems obvious Nate Davis was one of these people. He’s been a loaf since day one but the team has been incredibly forgiving of him the entire time.

They did release him, despite the OL being in pretty dire straights, that should send the right message to other loafers.

I can't dismiss it at this point

the only reason I think it could be him is because of "play Bagent" rumors, supposedly  from other players. Well that and the whole flipping offensive plays inside out thing

They are professionals, what in the world is going on? Didn’t Allen come into camp fat and slow? If so, then he’s part of the problem.

And where has the head coach been during the times that things were let go?

It’s very McCaskeyish to want to hire nice guys who finish last. No cussing on Hard Knocks. This is pro football, not Sunday Mass and that’s coming from a fellow Christian.

Nate Davis and Stevenson

Poles hangs onto Eberflus too long. Poles hangs onto Claypool too long. Poles hangs into Davis too long. Eberflus keeps trotting out Velus Jones to return kicks too long. The coaching staff lets a lack of professionalism and toughness go on too long.

The entire organization is just too forgiving.

Say what now? Wasn’t he’s the passing game coordinator? How could’ve have not talked to the damn QB much?

Speculation on the radio earlier was that the Bears have been trying to limit the number of voices in Williams' ear, so maybe Brown was operating more behind the scenes on the overall passing scheme and not communicating directly with him.

Maybe he just mostly wanted to hear one voice, but still seems like they should be…talking

I dunno what all the different jobs are supposed to do.

Maybe passing game coordinator is the guy watching film and working with the OC? You've already got a QB coach and an OC.

Or maybe it's dysfunctional. Who knows?

There's a way to be a soft-spoken coach that is at the same time respected. Lovie Smith managed that for about 8 years before things fell apart on him. Clearly, Eberflus is not that kind of guy.

Of course, all the Shouty Guy Coaches have been also awful for the Bears ever since Ditka. There's no winning.

1: things did not fall apart for Lovie Smith. He won 11, 8 and 10 games in years 7/8/9.
2: Eberflus isn’t really soft spoken. If anything he talks too much. He doesn’t say anything meaningful but he uses a lot of words in an energetic manner. It comes off as disingenuous

its called "holding people accountable". Lovie did that extremely well. I cant remember the DB's name, but I remember a guy Lovie drafted who picked off the Packers right before half time. Ran it back for a pick 6 until he eased up and was caught. Lovie (iirc) never let the guy start again

ETA: I want to say it was McBride

"...we need to be AGRESSIVE. OK? We need to BRING OUR ENERGY. OK?"

eberflus strikes me as more a tackful defensive coordinater. Theres no doubt he can develop a decent defense, but his ability to motivate players seems far less then great
