The Angels were bunting like mad on Morel at 3B, they smelled weakness after the 2 errors.  Weird thing to do in a ST game.

They're competing for their third straight Cactus League title.

Just curious, how many bunts qualifies as bunting like mad? I watched most of the game and saw 2. But I could have missed a few.

I think I saw 3 to Morel within an inning or 2 of his 2x error inning.  I may have missed more.

3 bunts? I saw one to the pitcher that Steele threw away. And one other. Guess I missed one, at least. Murray also made a throwing error ar third. I guess they should have kept bunting.

One of the bunts was an attempt that didn't get down if I remember

I literally dont care if he makes 100 errors at 3rd the rest of the spring. Just keep getting him reps there.

CC mentioned that he hopes he makes mistakes early on so he can learn from them

Those were his first two errors of the spring, right?

I saw him make another error previously, and play another ball badly but still made the play

Among the 357 MLB pitchers with at least 50 IP last year, Brown's rate of pitches hitting the strike zone at AAA last year would have ranked 349th.  Are we really trying to make this one of those stupid "David Ross is bald and dumb" things?  Not to mention before the injury he was tracking towards being a September callup regardless.

His stuff is obviously major league ready today.  His control last year was awful, and that's what kept him down.  If his control is better, he's ready today.   And in ST, it looks better

My opinion only. But curious why Busch isnt playing every freaking opportunity at 1stbase in these tuneup games? If he's the 1stbaseman he'd better be playing the last 2 weeks heading into the season.

Sorry for the rant, just have a scar from Ross/Hosmer lovefest last year.

My guess is that they don't need to see him.  He's the first baseman, and they are looking at players that they need to make a decision on.

I am almost certain he has 2 errors this spring. Both in that game. What you are calling an error was ruled a hit.

Any word on Kilian? I was surprised with his early showings. Maybe it's just spring, but it looked like he may have finally figured out where the ball is going which immediately makes him interesting.

*Edit: Saw the report. It's a blower.

I haven't heard anything about the results yet, but an MRI of the shoulder certainly isn't a good sign.

Killian underwent an MRI after exiting a Cactus League appearance Tuesday with right shoulder discomfort, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The results of the MRI aren't yet in, but it's certainly a discouraging development for the young right-hander. If healthy, Killian is likely slated for a spot in the Triple-A Iowa rotation, though he could also be an option for the big-league club as a reliever.

My brain didn't immediately go to the 40 man.  Kilian's injury definitely increases the chances of one of the MiLB deal guys like Edwards or Cooper making the team
