I'd let KA have a couple months in LF-RF before spending 20% of the budget on a declining Happ and noodle arm.

The Brewers get more from their players because they have better coaching and a better system to season prospects in. Counsell has the charisma of a sack of dead cats. Hoyer pays for floor, not ceiling and not those ol risky arms, which are the only kind in MLB. Instead he spent our prospect capital on players that ledt us with the same problems coming into the third season straight. And signed a bottom 10 league bat to play 2b for six years. Yay. If Happ is back, I'm going to be so gd disappointed.

At least Palencia came back and maybe righted the ship. If he can be his dominant self, it's a different ballgame for this team, in my estimate. Can't ride him like Chapman in '16, but maybe more than a 3 out closer would be a luxury this team hasn't had, consistently, in a long, long time.

I never want to hear a word about the 'pitching lab.' Either hurt or ineffective is all it has produced. Sure a pop up reliever, but the Cubs aren't unique in that. Happens every team every year. Jed should be flogged for basically doubling down on a horsefeathers staff. What you get bargain bin shopping, then buying band aids at the deadline. Can't wait to do it all again next year. Best offense and defense and the Cubs pitching lab!

Man, I hope every one of the Cubs prospects go on an ‘Ayers-esque trajectory.’ but I would like to rename it: ‘Going Hartshorn,' just my two-bits.

Be nice if he didn’t start against LHP for the rest of the season, but in a walk year, I doubt Counsell does that to him. Also, has anyone dug into Busch and his horsefeathers year and I missed it? It’s a pretty dramatic drop in production from who was our best hitter last season. Where’d his power go? xslg of .401? Yikes.
