I didn't mind 12 as originally proposed, but everyone involved moved at warp speed to kill everything good about it. I can't imagine ever watching another college football game not involving my teams prior to November anymore, nor any playoff game prior to the quarterfinals. I basically already don't. I catch snippets of games when I'm home.

Chesney is really good. Also, UCLA's schedule is very not good. The borderline top 20 Oregon team they just beat (without the Ducks' starting QB) is probably the best team they'll play all season. They could play the 2024 IU role this year, which is funny because Chesney was Cignetti's successor at JMU. What I guess I'm saying is be ready for UCLA to have an undefeated national championship season in 2027.

There's a pretty good argument he already did, he likely could've made more the last few years on whatever free agent deal he'd have gotten post 2023 than he did on the deal he signed.

I don't care one bit that the White Sox are having success. Admittedly I am a little annoyed that the Cubs drew (at the time) the hottest team on the planet and even had they beaten them would've had to get through the supernatural Brewers, while the White Sox drew probably the easiest bracket in the history of the MLB playoffs - but that annoyance would apply to any team in the White Sox' current position.

Other than maybe the playoff game in January, that's easily the best I've ever seen him look. That sideline throw to McMillan on 3rd and 14 was Hall of Fame horsefeathers. New play caller deserves a lot of credit, this looks like a completely different offense.

I haven't heard Herbstreit on NFL games so I can't speak to him in that medium, but I liked him a lot more on college games before he became a blatant mouthpiece for whatever opinions ESPN wants him to express (going back at least to when he horsefeathers on Northern Illinois for getting to the Orange Bowl some years ago).

Not entirely true. The Athletic recently reported that the owners negotiated a provision into the TV deals that they get the money for 2027 even if no games are played. (In exchange, the deals would add another year at no charge to the networks, but that would inevitably be renegotiated.)

Yep, the stated reason for doing this series is that people didn't 'feel' like they really made the playoffs if they only played 1 game. Don't see how playing 2 is much of an improvement, especially when they go like ours (and the Red Sox') did.
