  1. It sounds like the B1G push for 24 teams is now mostly if not entirely based on trying to get FOX playoff games, which is very on brand
  2. The call to send Mendoza on the draw on 4th and 5 is one of the greatest I've ever seen. Props to Cignetti and IU.
  3. Top right corner of the page there are three horizontal lines, click that, then click 'account' which will bring up a sub-menu from which you can click 'ignored users,' then type in the username you wish to ignore
  4. That's what they did the first year they had this expanded playoff format, too, so it's not like they can't do it. They just want more cash.
  5. Found this interesting from Keith Law's article on The Athletic:
  6. Yeah he always annoyed me the most of all the cheating Astros, but I loved Edmonds by the time he was done so if he hits I'll be fine
  7. Being in at all was a gift (and kinda a joke, TBH) so getting an actually fun game out of it was a bonus. I'll never really trust Bryce Young but that was a really good game for him on the whole.
  8. Talent identification and coaching obviously huge factors. Everyone is portaling and dropping bags, but IU is by far hitting on their acquisitions more than anyone else and that's a tribute to scouting and coaching
  9. As it turns out, IU might have been the only team worthy of a playoff spot this year
  10. They definitely are dropping boatloads of NIL money. That's the only way to get players now, really.
  11. I wasn't saying the format was a reason. Just that maybe, NIL or otherwise, however the field is determined should not be bending over backwards to protect their teams like what happened this year.
  12. Two years in this format and the SEC is 3-6 when not playing SEC teams. The highest ranked opponent among those 3 was #12. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned.
  13. Truly the stupidest possible way to make the playoffs but whatever, at least I get to kinda care about football another week.
  14. I doubt that will be much of a factor. Last year ND had a 2-day rest disadvantage in the semis vs Penn State and won, then had a 1-day rest advantage for the title game vs Ohio State and lost.
  15. And to think they had both in their arsenal and went to those alarm-clock monstrosities for 6 years
  16. They 100% do but they won't. One scoring drive, of 19 yards, in the first 55 minutes of this game is just atrocious. Not in position to draft anyone, either.
  17. I'm so sick and horsefeathers tired of rooting for this franchise
  18. I thought they'd both get smashed. Egg on my face there.
  19. Miami could've saved everyone involved a lot of bloviating and controversy if they had played weeks 2-7 like they've played the last 6 weeks.
  20. If the last couple years are any indication they're going to change the format no matter what happens
  21. Neither did Missouri. Yet it took until the very end of the season for either of them to stop being ranked.
  22. Oh I've long since accepted that this run will result in 2 more years of Bryce
  23. Seattle is a terrific defensive team and all but what a massive turd bucket of a game on offense by Carolina
  24. The "game-winning drives" stat is kinda voodoo anymore especially with how good kickers are, but Bryce Young has an awful lot of them. (This is not an endorsement of Bryce Young as long-term Panthers QB - just an interesting factoid.)
  25. Well, hope you guys enjoyed the small conference teams having playoff bids, because the SEC and B1G are going to spend the next 8 months screaming at us about how these results illustrate why those bids need to go.
