  1. Biggest batter of the game now (captain obvious)
  2. Leave Boyd out there, he hasn't even gone through the lineup twice yet
  3. I 100% anticipate that happening but we did get 2 guys on in the only inning played since so far
  4. If there's one thing all baseball fans have in common, it's "we haven't scored enough runs in a while so let's put in players who all available evidence suggests are likely to produce even worse results." I'm as annoyed Tucker is now a singles hitter as anyone but shoving the rookie Ballesteros in after not taking a meaningful AB in two weeks or whatever is a hilariously stupid idea. Putting in Willi Castro, who has been an absolute travesty from pretty much the moment he put on a Cubs uniform, is somehow an even worse one.
  5. I think so too, but if he does start Peralta it definitely carries some risk if he kerplunks and they have no great options for Game 5.
  6. He was in the front row with Zobrist for a game earlier this season, so I'm guessing yes.
  7. I can't find a specific article that confirms this, but I think if there's only one game tomorrow (regardless of matchup) it's at 7 pm ET.
  8. Do you think you're talking to some higher authority than a forum of unconnected baseball fans?
  9. While approving CBAs that not only incentivize them to act that way, but also give their small market opposition advantages (extra draft picks) that they don't have, leaving them only one advantage (money) that they choose to underutilize.
  10. The updating of Wrigley has made and will make them a metric horsefeathers ton of money. The fact that it also made Wrigley a better place to watch games was a side benefit.
  11. Seeing Chourio reminds me how horsefeathers stupid it is that he had a hamstring injury and is back hitting 3 run jacks the next game while Tucker's calf effectively rendered him useless for over 6 weeks I'm sure there's a rational explanation but I'm pissed
  12. If I thought this absurd run of nonsense Milwaukee is on would go all the way through I'd be fine with it. I might even root for it! But I know this ends with LA completely crushing them in the next round as all the stupid breaks they're getting against us start going the other direction.

    NFL Week 5

I've long since passed the time where I have to accept the halftime show isn't for me anymore because I'm too old. More often than not anymore it's people whose work I know nothing about.

    NFL Week 5

As others have noted, I don't think anything will make Young physically capable of being a legit good NFL QB the way Mayfield and Darnold were and are. I do think there may be meat on the bone for a competent franchise to make him viable, though.

    NFL Week 5

Speaking of promising QBs who were ruined by terrible coaching Carolina literally had both these players in 2022 and did jack horsefeathers with them

  17. I don't know the stats on Happ's bunting but I'm almost certain I recall him trying to do so once (probably in an extra-inning fake baseball situation) and it going spectacularly poorly. Good hitters aren't practicing bunting all that much because a good hitter bunting is almost exclusively a stupid idea.
  18. Pivetta is throwing some great pitches, granted, but if Pete keeps doing that crap we're not going anywhere
  19. I'm assuming it's all the ads. The ads on batting helmets thing is so stupid.
  20. I'm not sure what this meme is talking about, according to the very real and not at all invented for money Venmo Rivalry Series (TM), Penn State and Oregon are each other's blood rivals so PSU shouldn't be on this list
  21. I'm pro Sean McDonough in all circumstances, but yeah, not having the SNB team made everything else gravy.
  22. San Diegoans. San Diegans.

  24. So glad Carolina will be spinning the QB roulette wheel when there's again no consensus good player at that position
  25. PSU is probably still fine if they beat IU (or, perish the thought, @ Ohio State). The rest of their schedule is dog water so they'll beat them all. But can they split those two? Not sure.
