    What a weird game. Every ND fan went in assuming everyone on the team was great and Carr would just have to not lose the game and instead Carr was quite good and basically everybody else was bad. I'm not sure Miami is great, but they played really well for 3 quarters and didn't make any big mistakes. They're probably the best in the ACC as it stands now. Schedule isn't good enough to lose again and get in IMO, so it's back to being against the wall for 11 straight games similar to last year.

    They are still requiring a power-conference OOC game even with the 9-game move. The B1G once claimed to (though teams violated it pretty regularly), but quietly got rid of it when the CFP went to 12 teams.

    Seems like the only reason to sign him is to take Turner's ABs away, but Turner's doing ok vs LHP. I guess another bench bat that isn't a complete disaster is a decent idea.

    TBF while they all ended up winning, some of their early-game performances suggested they may not have known they were playing either.

    This is absurd. The worst team in baseball for a solid 3 straight months and they're just making every damn play

    To be fair this team needs to stop hitting into double plays and score more runs for that 6th run to be relevant to the outcome

    They're talking about it like the ballpark just opened. This is the 26th season of the place for crying out loud. The Cubs have played here literally every year (but 2020 of course). Just reeks of 'We have to give the sideline reporter something to do'

    We probably got all the decent pitching we could get out of Rea and now we're hurtling down the other side.

    Boy that was a weird mound visit, coming out in the middle of an AB, and Nico diagnosed it perfectly.

    Now Ohio State is claiming it's their understanding that FOX won't bring Portnoy into any B1G stadiums during the season, which makes absolutely no sense at all on its face. Color me pleased, though, that this ridiculous circus act didn't even get started before it got dumb

    H2H is first but since the Cubs and Padres split the 6 games they played it moves to the next one. As you alluded to, it would apply if it was us and LA, with a 4-3 H2H edge to the Cubs this season.

    PCA really needs to figure out how to hit lefties because I'm beyond sick of every opponent having a limitless supply of them ready to face him in the middle and late innings
