Reynolds is having a big bounce back year, Cruz was having a bounce back year before he went down and Lowe/O'Hearn were solid off-season pickups who are having nice seasons. There's regression coming at some point for Endy Rodriguez and Valdez though as they've both had extremely hot starts since their call ups.

He's got something going on. Either mechanics are slightly off or dealing with some fatigue. His 4-seamer averaged 96.3 last game and did not touch 98 for the first time since Apr. Averaged 98.8 and 98.1 the previous two seasons (Down to 96.9 on the season average). I wouldn't be shocked if they give him a little extended break here soon.

Most likely phantom, but it would almost be a relief if the knee injury has been part of his pitching issues.

Yea, it's better than a complete tear. Looks like 4-6 weeks is the typical rough estimate for returning. This is worse news however - He went on the IL on 6/9/24 for that injury and did not return that season.

I think there's three things that lead to the exasperation around the Cubs pitching injuries - 80% of our rotation has missed or will miss considerable time for injuries. Combined with the emergence of Brown and him now going down, there's not much more to be said here The lack of promising young arms waiting in the wings at Iowa. This is where Wiggins and Birdsell would have been penciled in and relieved some of the angst. Horton was that guy last year. We just lack the Didier Fuentes and Logan Henderson's that the other teams at our competitive level have that can be called up and provide young upside. Seems like we have some up and coming arms at the lower levels, so I hope there's more of a priority around holding onto them and restocking our upper end of the farm moving forwards Fluke injuries or not this year, our rotation was compiled with mainly guys who have traditionally had injury/inning concerns. Cease was available. His arm could blow at anytime, but he's been a workhorse 5 years now with TOR ability. Many of us wanted him because of this.
