I'm typically not one to complain about commentators but absolutely can't stand listening to Sutcliffe

Yea he's too positive with every player on this team, he'd be telling us how good Koyie Hill, Vitters, and Descalso will be if they were playing today 😅

I am feverishly engaging in magical thinking that they are letting Suttcliffe do ST games and will not let him near a microphone during the regular season.

One can only hope but with Girardi gone we may see him more.

I'm really not a fan of the inconsistencies in the booth with Marquee and them having guys rotating in and out. If Boog and JD can't do 162 and need time away then go get 2 people who can.

I guess I'm just old school who enjoyed Harry and Stone, then eventually Len Kasper with Brenly and then JD.

I like Alex Cohen when he does play by play for Iowa and fills in for the Cubs sometimes

Last year I think he subbed in for JD on every west coast trip.  Unfortunately I assume that's an explicit arrangement they have.

He's sooo exhausting, I'd almost rather listen to Dempster do his gosh awful Harry impersonation

Agree.  It's only ST though so it's fine that way.  162 + ST is a lot, I don't blame Boog and JD for not doing a lot of ST.  Though they can do it from the studio.

It's everything, his sing-song delivery. His name dropping. His effusive praise for a guy who is not even in the top 50 Cubs prospects. I can't stand it.

Dempster is actually a pretty decent color guy and I can't recall any recent instances of him hamming it up when on air in that specific capacity.

I think he has toned down the Harry impersonation and is decent as a color guy now. But at first he did do that a bit. And it was annoying. As you said, he isn’t doing that any longer and he is now second to JD as my preferred color man.
