2024 Spring Training Game Thread

I assume we're going to do a ST games thread, but didn't want to start since not sure if we'd do it here in Cubs discussions or the regular season IGT forum

Let's go with a new thread here for visibility to start with.

 

Happ at leadoff is potentially noteworthy here since he's had a stated preference to not be that guy even though he's a really good fit on this roster.  Also for anyone like me who was wondering, Hudson is Joe Hudson, an NRI catcher.

Love that lineup. I can't wait to listen. I imagine it will be Mick Gillespie who does the Smokies games. He's been doing the ST PBP for a few years now. Sometimes Coomer shows up too. It's a weird set up. Pat hasn't done ST in a few years. For a while Len and Mick would tag team. I miss Len.

PCA flying around the bases... liked the swing he put on the ball too. And the one Shaw just had. 

Lettering on the uniforms is way too small.

I'm standing on my thoughts that theyre going to be giving these kids all the opportunities over signing FA to long term deals.

I've been thinking/saying since last offseason that I felt they were going to look and go with these kids over signing FA to long term deals (Swanson aside) of 4+ yrs.

PCA, Morel, Mervis, Canairo, Amaya,  Alcantara, Shaw, Busch, etc ., we're going to be seeing alot of these guys this season, not sure if we're going to see any current FA signed for 4+ yrs.
