Please don't let this crapola come to pass.

It's pretty much a given at this point. Better move past the denial into the anger stage. I doubt the acceptance stage will come anytime soon though.

You guys may have to follow the Cubs without me, because when this comes to pass...somehow I may go on a suspendable tirade.

Didn't we get your swearing request approved last night?

What bothers me is that the offense is hitting well enough to hide Pie's struggles until he either got untracked or proved he may not be ready. Now, if he gets called back up he has to go back to square one and the Cubs will have to do this again.

It's on track, this was covered in Rants a few weeks ago.

I think that it was still pending...but we'll see.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Jim Edmonds will sign with the Cubs once he clears waivers Wednesday.

Edmonds' arrival will send Felix Pie back to Triple-A, where he's hit .306/.361/.484 in 196 games.

I'm gonna go kill myself.

The Cubs got Mark Patircks stay hot "Bowa Style" on XM's Baseball This Morning. Both Patrick and Buck Martinez could not figure out for the life of them why the Cubs would do this so we are not the only ones going WT*??

It's incredibly moronic.

Johnsons can hit lefties...Pie was showing he can hit righties. Straght platoon them and you're likely to get decent or better production out of CF.

Jim Edmonds can't hit anyone now, and he's been steadily declining for 4 seasons.

No, it's not the "worst," but it's still incredibly bad.

Someone warn the players to cover their crotches after they score and for their wives to not leave their mascara out. Ugh this is frustrating, I wonder how Pie feels about this.

The Cubs management makes me feel:

right now. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Nothing good will come of this.

A .637 OPS (with a .351 BABIP no less) has you excited?

They should make sure he gets the cold shower in the home dugout. I don't think he's going to like playing in Chicago very much. Hopefully he doesn't play very much, but something tells me that won't be the case. Meanwhile the Iowa Cubs are going to rake! I can't wait until they come to Memphis. Dumb.

no, but a .533 OPS from a 38 year old whose been declining for four years sure does.

There isn't a single word in the human language to express just how upset i will be when this happens.

I'm trying to stay positive, if Pie' not going to play everyday with the Cubs, he might as well play everyday with the Iowa Cubs - work on pitch selection. The worst case scenario - Edmonds craps the bed, he's gone, Pie back up, the best case - the Cubs get a hot few months out of Edmonds making the lineup that more formidable. I don't agree with the signing either, I would have had Pie in the lineup everyday from day one but, that's not going to happen and useless to lament it.

If Edmonds does anything at all, I'll probably get to see Felix start for the Iowa Cubbies at the end of June. I'm not really happy about that, but it's something.

wowowowowowow...Well, I guess our 23 year old CF couldn't be called up. That would make too much sense. I really really really really really really really really really really hate this team.

That's really really really really really really really really really really unfortunate, because they're one of the best teams in baseball.

Meh, I was more upset yesterday. By the time it actually happens, I will have already been dealing with it for a while.

This was probably already suggested but reading too much of this thread will surely lead me to pure rage so pardon any redundance.

Raise your hand if you think Edmonds will ride the pine most of the time while Reed gets the bulk of starts in CF essentially relegating Pie to AAA irrelevant of Edmonds' production or potential production. Lou's statement about Johnson yesterday leads me to believe this, as well as the spew-inducing performance I foresee coming from Edmonds based on his crap-worthy stats this year.

And there are two positives lost in this (and it is easy for them to get lost in all those negatives):

1. This could get Kosuke moved up in the order where he belongs

2. It is really going to irritate the hell out of a lot of Cards fans to see "Jimmy Ballgame" in a Cubs uni. (too bad it will gall me almost as much)
