  1. I suppose there's still a shot that Theo/Hoyer are holding their poker faces until the very last second in hopes of getting just a little bit more. Or at least, that's my hope. I just dont see the upside of him starting. He either keeps his trade value as high as it currently is or drops it due to injury/a crappy performance. Not sure his value can really go up from where it is, barring a no-hitter or something.
  2. Holy [expletive]. Hah, yeah, I'm still around. Sometimes. It's the rare slow day at work with not many of the boss-people here. I'm welcoming myself back to the interwebs. How much did that Reyes HR hurt you? Hah! I was watching that at home. That was pretty hilarious.
  3. Holy [expletive]. Hah, yeah, I'm still around. Sometimes. It's the rare slow day at work with not many of the boss-people here. Probably because it's a road game. Don't work there anymore.
  4. Thanks guys! And yeah, I'd love to see a mini bidding war get started here. If it drives up the price a little, great. I just don't want to see Dempster on the mound tonight. It would be just far too Cub-like to watch him get hit in the arm with a liner.
  5. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS #nationals said trying hard on dempster. #braves in, & #tigers may be, too. 1 gm still thinks #dodgers still favorite tho

  7. I've got to assume it's a bluff. There's no way Theo is dumb enough to risk injury or a bad game from Dempster when there are offers on the table.
  8. Well hello there. Long time, no see. Anywho, I've got a question for you all. I'm currently working on an article and I'm trying to find some minor league statistics - and I'm having a hell of a time finding them. Baseball-reference has some very basic statistics, but even their minor league stats are a bit thin. Mostly what I'm looking for are box scores - preferably with play-by-play, but that's not 100% necessary - from recent seasons. Think 2007-2010 Cubs minor league box scores. Is there anywhere on the glorious interwebs that stores that information? Thanks in advance for any help. EDIT: I know every day there are box scores posted in this forum, I'm just looking for somewhere that I don't have to scroll through 20 pages of message board posts to find what I'm looking for.
  9. Heyman is now also reporting there is no interest in Z amongst the Yankees.
  10. I was really happy when I heard the Cubs were gonna do this. Good for them.
  11. Excuse me if this has already been posted somewhere, but I just saw this come up on twitter this morning. Pretty cool... http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/qa-darwin-barney/
  12. I really, really can't stand Bogans sometimes.
  13. I think it's really stupid that all they did was add los or el to the team names. I suppose. However, they still look cool if you ask me.
  14. Big fan of the Los Bulls uni's
  15. I rose from the dead. I'm special. I still browse around but don't post much.. Anyway, I'm still working at Wrigley - not as an ambassador though. That position was new as of last year. If you have any questions you can feel free to PM me and I'll try to answer what I can.
  16. Tom Tresh Wtf. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/treshto01.shtml Holy god he was awful
  17. Yeah, this isn't happening. Wrigley is way too small to fit a proper field onto. It barely fit the football field. Aren't the dimensions of soccer fields somewhat negotiable? I was posting this story at work the other day and the place I was linking from said something about it. Is it possible to play if it's a slightly smaller field perhaps? ETA: http://www.hottimeinoldtown.com/2011/1/3/1889286/manchester-united-in-my-wrigley-field-its-more-likely-than-you-think#add-comment There it is.
  18. Went with Celek. Unless things turn around in the 2nd half, looks like I should have went with Hernandez. oh well. I may still win, but either way the person I needed to lose did, so I'm in the playoffs anyway.
  19. These contracts are absolutely ridiculous. Albert Pujols has to be just about the happiest man on the planet right now. Dude is gonna get PAID.
  20. Very important week for me, and I need a replacement tight end. I have been going with a combination of Shaincoe and Heap for the majority of the season but Shiancoe has been godawful recently and Heap is injured. The top options on the waiver wire are: Aaron Hernandez (NE) @ Chicago Brent Celek (Philly) @ Dallas Anthony Fasano (MIA) @ NYJ Jeremy Shockey (NO) vs. StL There's a couple of other options (Owen Daniels coming back from injury, for one) but I think those are the top four. I'm leaning towards either Celek or Hernandez. What do you folks think?
  21. http://www.csnchicago.com/pages/video?PID=8jF52FxUEAGWjhtuFroNMkoDiEXIS3Ba CSN did it this morning.
  22. Oh damnit... Definitely did not expect to wake up to this :(
  23. Here's a relatively interesting one. My league starts 2 RB, 2 WR, and a Flex. So pick 5: Knowshon Moreno v. SEA Darren McFadden v. StL Clinton Portis v. HOU Brandon Jacobs v. IND Reggie Wayne v. NYG Mike Wallace v. TEN Dwayne Bowe v. CLE I'm thinking Moreno, McFadden, Portis, Wayne, and then either Wallace/Bowe. Bowe is going against the clearly inferrior team, but he also dropped damn near everything they threw to him last week. Also, McFadden will probably have to split time with Bush this week so maybe I start both wallace and bowe and sit McFadden? Thoughts?
