  1. Noah and Melo would be a nice combo for the Bulls.
  2. Probably not in the first but in the second, yeah, the Cubs will probably be looking at HS P. I wouldn't be shocked if they were interested in Blewitt at pick 45 and it does sound like he could still be available then. Thanks Raisin and I hope all is well! That's what I figured where he'd go if it were the Cubs since he would not be a top 5 pick. He'd be the highest pick from Baldwinsville since Jason Grilli.
  3. So you guys have Coach P coaching your LB's.....very good position coach and committed to his craft. The Bears have a good one there.
  4. Don't know that much about him personally, except the usually "low 90s fastball" you hear about 90% of HS pitching prospects this time of year. MLB.com has him listed at #55 FWIW, so he could go in the second round quite easily. Thanks Deeg.....they project him going around there here as well and he does hit the mid 90's plus the frame to add a few feet on it as he matures. Great kid as well.
  5. What an amazing career Zimmer had in baseball. Truly blessed by the baseball gods and baseball lost a heck of an ambassador. Loved the bases loaded 3-2 count runners running with 0-1 outs, how fun was that?
  6. Are the Cubs looking at any HS pitchers in the first or second round? Just curious because I have a player (Scott Blewitt) that could be a possible that I coached and hell it would be more of a dream for me than him if he got picked by the Cubs! Any thoughts about Scoot from you draft gurus here?
  7. Sixers have the best point guard in the NBA. Love to see MCW get some help there.
  8. Aaron Donald is a beast, if you guys can get him you'll be very happy you did.....great motor as well. Coach P will do a nice job for your Bears too, great guy and good teacher....meant to be a position coach at this stage of his career.
  9. I really wish he'd step back. He was an innovater (sp) but it's past his time now. Do you guys think if the Pats score 35 or so that it's the system and not so much Brady?
  10. If OSU goes 11-1 I hope that they don't use the Wells didn't play card on why they lost 1 game. Vance...LSU has a lot of talent but they have to play somebody out of conference.
  11. IMO right now Ok and USC are the best teams. I didn't realize how fast OU was, wow. Nice win for Wisconsin. The BE goes 2-1, all against BCS schools. A better showing than the previous week. This is the worst Syracuse team I have seen and I've been a fan since 69 and Robinson has reached a low that no other SU coach Has ever come near.
  12. It's in the Bible now, some guy named Luke.
  13. Maybe they meant the 37 yard line?
  14. Closest thing you're going to find unless you're Fred... Soto with a runner on 1st and only 1st -- .271/.340/.448/.788 Fontenot with a runner on 2nd and only 2nd -- .313/.522/.688/1.209 This is with no outs, one out, and two outs. I'm not sure how much you can really gather from this info, but there ya go. So a hit is increased by .042 by doing this, if the bunt was successful and I'm sure we don't have a good sample of Soto and his bunting record. Thanks Mizzou.
  15. Do you still want Greg S to be your next coach? I thought this team would be a 7-5 type team but not this bad. Fresno may not be as good as I thought they were.
  16. You could probably look at each player (I think Fontenot was due up after Soto, then the pitcher's spot- another reason why it was dumb), but the stuff I've read that has dampened my enthusiasm on the sac bunt in general was based on years of stats, not samples of players like you're talking about. The years of data would be better, I'd think. I'm not totally opposed to the bunt, but with Geo there and two spots in the order behind him before you'd find as good a hitter coming up, it's just bad. I wouldn't bunt Geo in that spot if Pie had been on second with no outs (which I think is an even more obvious bunt situation late in a game) I wouldn't think of bunting him in that situation either, especially if he was swinging the bat well that game. It would be pretty cool to see the breakdown of the numbers though and not a general bunting stat.
  17. Wow...that may make things interesting, thanks.
  18. Is there statistical information on Soto with a man at first with no outs and then who was after Soto with a man on second with 1 out? Of course you would have to figure in Soto and the percentage of chance of him laying down a successful bunt as well into the equation and the hitters behind him and how they hit. So, which one has a better chance of scoring that 1 run in this exact situation?
  19. Is Wood an Type A Free Agent? He's been out a lot in the past 3 years, isn't that how they're judged?
  20. If the pass rush is good, I have my doubts Orton would be able to consistently beat Carolina deep to the WRs. However, the strength of the Bears passing game is looking more and more like it is the TE's and possibly the RB's out of the backfield, so covering the WRs is probably not going to have the desired effect since the Bears don't *appear* to be looking for a lot of deep passes to WRs right now. And I don't see many LBs being able to cover Greg Olson 1 on 1. Dez is quite capable of getting open too. This is based off one game though, so it's not a real clear picture. But if the WR's are taken care of that lets the safety's slide up and help with the TE and Rb on passes. NFL teams change a lot but isn't Carolina's D pretty athletic still?
  21. How is Carolina against the run? If they pack the line and can cover the WR's one on one can your QB beat them?
  22. That's something a lot of people ignore - Vince has never had a good (or even decent) crop of receivers. Of course a QBs numbers will be mediocre if he has nobody to throw the football to. Scaife has been his best option since he came into the league, that's not good. As I said earlier in either this thread or the Week 1 thread, Vince's numbers compare favorably to Steve McNair's after two seasons starting. And McNair had the luxury of sitting on the bench for two seasons that Vince never did. When you receivers that can't separate you have problems. How well does Collins do with them? The receivers can separate decently well - they just have problems catching the ball when they do. Kerry makes better throws than Vince, so he tends to do a little better. Still, though, he has to rely on the short dumpoffs and running game to have any success. Given his better accuracy, though, he'll tend to hit one or two more deep balls than Vince will. Again, that's when the receivers actually catch the ball, though. Last year in six games played, Kerry had a 61% comp %, 6.5 yards per attempt and no TDs or picks (82 attempts). Vince had a 62.3% and 6.7 y/a with a 9:17 TD:INT (382 attempts). Ah, the drops. I would imagine that Vice throws the ball a heck of a lot harder than Kerry does and imo that makes a bad receiver even worse, unless it gets caught in his facemask. I'm actually not sure on the speed of the QBs passes, but I'd have to assume you're right. Kerry might have a stronger arm than Vince, though. The biggest difference between the two is that Kerry throws a more accurate ball. Vince is generally a little high, or a little behind, etc. whereas Kerry is usually fairly spot on with his throws. The receivers still find ways to drop his passes too, though. I forgot that Collins has a good arm. It's funny, people used to say he was braindead but had talent and now he's the other guy (seasoned vet) and Vince is the new Collins. I remember when Donovan had the same problem with his receivers only they couldn't separate as well as not catch the ball. It seems to be a very tough thing to go through but Vince has a coach that will defend him instead of ripping him apart in the press which is a very good thing.
