  1. To some extent I do, but not Florida, Alabama and any team Spurrier coaches. I simply hate them too much. But UGA, UK, Vandy, LSU, Auburn, Miss St, Ole Miss, etc. I have no problem rooting for - so long as their winning doesn't hurt the Vols. You all know who I root for and I even root for BE teams to beat Syracuse, that way we can get the first pick in the HS draft.
  2. I really like this game, do you guys play OSU this year?
  3. Soccer has them too! I'm not talking that stupid tomahawk chop thing though but a clever little tune to annoy the other team and pump up the Cubs.
  4. Have they ever played this game when both teams are not ranked or did that happen last year?
  5. I love college football and the fight songs. I know the cubs have the stretch/Cubs win but they don't have a fight song. This song is to be sung in the bleachers and written by one of you. Are any of you fan enough to do it? You gotta write your own and not steal any material, well maybe you can steal a little but most of it has to be your own words.
  6. WE'RE GOING TO RUN TO THE LEFT...WE'RE GOING TO RUN TO THE RIGHT! Go Cubs!
  7. That was maybe the toughest matchup he will see all season, outside of Jared Allen (twice). Still he was pretty weak pass blocking. He did ok in the preseason against weaker DEs. I didn't have a huge problem with St. Clair. I'm glad they kept him at left tackle and Tait at right. At least in that situation, Tait is a good enough right tackle to not hurt the team, whereas he wasn't a good LT at all. St. Clair is a mediocre lineman, but he's not completely incompetent. They just need to give him help all season. All St. Clair had to do was hold off Freeney long enough for Orton to get off the short pass. The first two series of downs worried me, as Orton was missing badly, but he became much more accurate after that. That was one of my keys to the Bears winning this game. They had to control Indy's defense with short passes. Anything else was just going to be a bonus, and Orton did give us a few bonuses hitting Clark and Lloyd downfield. How did Freeney look Sunday?
  8. Sweet, there's more of us! one more victim Damn... I'm just kidding. getting past texas, ttu and osu will be tough in its own right, and i imagine our (potential) game will be something like 60-50, could go either way. Your boys beat a very good team pretty soundly. IMO the biggest problem OU has is when they get punched in the mouth, how they will react. They've always done a nice job when they are in control and cruising but if it gets tough and they still come back and win, then they're a top 2 team. Unless of course they blow everyone out but you've said they don't have the defense for them to do that so I don't think that will happen.
  9. In your dreams!!!! They wouldn't play us when we were good and of all the times....God I hate Robinson.
  10. seriously, who is the best team in the big east? that's definitely going to be the tallest midget. It is down right now but the difference with the BE and the other BCS conferences is that a BE team will travel to a non BCS team while the others will not. WVU lost at ECU, USF went to UCF and won in OT in an emotional end of a series game. texas went to utep, minnesota went to bowling green, aTm went to new mexico, arkansas went to la-monroe, maryland went to middle tennessee st., texas tech went to nevada. that's 3 big east teams, 1 sec team, 1 big ten team and 1 acc team. last week va tech, mississippi st and boston college did it. next week ucla, arizona and wisconsin are doing it. so i'd say that whatever point you were trying to make isn't a good one. My point is EVERY BE team does it. Let me know when OSU, Penn St, Michigan, LSU, USC, Georgia do and it isn't on a neutral field. I don't know how you can knock OSU for this. They schedule 3 complete puffs every year, but they also schedule 1 big game - Texas a couple years ago, USC this and next year. PSU, Michigan, MSU, and Purdue play ND out of conference almost every year - not a tough game last year, but ask them how they liked it in 05/06. I don't think your argument holds any water here at all, actually. Did you actually read what I wrote? These teams do not go to a Mid-Major place and play there, unless you consider USC and Texas Mid-Majors. Oh, I mis-read it. I thought you were talking about traveling to tough opponents. I don't much care who travels to mid majors, I care more about overall strength of schedule and playing tough opponents out of conference when you have several weak ones in your conference. Sorry I was a little sarcastic in my post. It's hard to go to one of those places when they have a good team, I wonder how the OSU/Ohio game might have turned out if it were at Ohio U. I admire Wisconsin for going to Fresno and I never like how they schedule. Also, when big schools play them...like a Texas, they demand more tickets to be available or it's no deal. I agree playing the BCS schools helps more and the bigger the name, the better.

How about this year and next when OSU is playing USC on a home and home. How about OSU doing it a few years ago with Texas? I challenge you to find an OOC game for an upper echelon Big East that was just as difficult as that. Didn't Cincy just go to Oklahoma?
  13. Congrats on a nice win Bear fans!
  14. They had a nice team last year and I knew WVU would have a tough time with them, congrats and keep on winning!

  17. From the way I heard it, it was like for example the cap is 100 and rookies get another 32.
  18. A) Angelo is signed through 2013 and is going nowhere. Sure, it would be nice to replace him, it's just not likely. B) Angelo has shown he is capable of drafting well in the middle and late rounds, although that has not been consistent. He's struggled with first round picks conistently though. C) A top 5 pick means both, the team sucked, and you have to pay an exorbitant bonus to a rookie which could set your team back years due to salary cap ramifications. On Mike and Mike they had the union guy on there and he said that the rookie money isn't counted against the cap, did I hear that wrong? Why is this guy signed to such a long deal?
  19. I hope I got this wrong but are some of you saying you wouldn't want a top 5 pick because the GM would blow it? It's like instead of fixing my slice, I'll turn to the left a bit. IMO, Get rid of the GM if you don't think he can draft.
  20. Yeah, I agree with you. Good luck Z ya big lug!
  21. The Cubs are up 69-0 with 2 outs bottom of the 9th up 3-0 game wise and an 0-2 count on the hitter. He hits a flare for a single and 1000's scream uh oh, here comes the heartbreak, they're going to choke this one away.
  22. He's been the third-best pitcher, but our best hope for the postseason was that we had three great pitchers. Not our only hope, to be sure, but our best. I agree but it won't be the end of the world either. They'll miss his bat though!
  23. 6-28, what is this, tennis? :D) Maybe the Bears should go to a spread offense since they have had so many problems with finding a QB, I'd like to see how it would work in the pros. First order of business there would be to fire Turner, because he wouldn't run it. That would be a good start no matter what offense you would want to run. I can't say I'd be upset. I'm trying to keep expectations low on this one. If we lose but keep it close I will focus on the positives from the game, because I feel like there will be positives to talk about if we are competitive. You'd rather go 6-10 than 2-14?
