  1. CR thought he said sneaky power but what Fontenot really heard was: DTBJYFRYRyuihlgglhkf.
  2. I wonder if Detroit would want to move their RF?
  3. End of the Line - Traveling Wilburys Look Sharp - Joe Jackson Winning - Santana Goatbusters - Ray Parker Jr. All I need is a Miracle - Mike and the Mechanics
  4. Oh God, now you're saying strikeouts are better than hits? :D
  5. I'm hoping that the Cubs clinch early and get Z some rest. Lee instead of Soriano....maybe the length of the deal being a factor a bit but I like Soriano out there right now.
  6. Are you going Saturday? Please let me know how Syracuse looked when you get a chance. I received my season tickets in the mail about a month ago (probably a more magical day than the release of the two-deeps). Forecast calls for upper 70s and sunny. Typical early season day in Evanston. Hopefully it falls to at least the low 70s, though. Are you not going to be watching? If I'm home I will and thanks for the weather report. We didn't do too well against spread offenses last year, among other things, but at least we are familiar with them and play the best one each year. We're really young and deep at RB but the OLine has to improve big time. The 2 best receivers are gone so that will hurt but if Robinson gets sacked 50 something more times it's a moot point. Please let me know if the receivers get any separation and if they do, if they are open when Robinson gets sacked. I can't really see that stuff on TV.
  7. I wonder when this whole mess in his shoulder really happened? I really wish they looked at it early in the process and not waited until now.

  9. You're 52 and no Kessinger OPS! I'm thrilled with him this year and if he kept up this pace for 3 or 4 years he's be the best SS since Banks.
  10. I can see where you're going on hit and runs, but don't understand why pickoffs should be any different than a normal CS. It's his read on a move and patterns. I was wondering if he went on the first move last year and used it to get a good jump and this year pitchers are more aware of him stealing and changing their patterns. I can't imagine his speed changing that much.
  11. What drives me crazy is when a pitcher nibbles on the 7-9 guys and then goes middle on the good hitters. Challenge the bottom of order guys more or hitters like Guzman.
  12. Yeah, it's 4 games out of each team's schedule and that can mean the difference between a good season and a great season. Yep...a split and you're 8-8 or 9-7 and a sweep you're 10-6 or 11-5.
  13. He walked the bases loaded. Yep, that would be falling behind! Was he missing by a lot or did he suddenly get squeezed after getting calls he had earlier? All 4 balls to Guzman were just a little bit off the outside corner. He didn't miss by much, but he wasn't getting squeezed either. 2 of the ones to Zimmerman were close, and the other 2 were way out of the zone. From watching Marquis, it seems like he doesn't want to give in to the middle (close too) of the plate until he struggles and then it's too late. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me he works his own way and then when he starts to struggle, puts it down the middle or continues to walk batters. Does he usually give up big innings and not 1 or 2 at a time?

  15. I think how well the Vikes and Packers do will depend on how good or bad the Bears and Lions are. I think the Pack's D is underrated while the Vikes might be a little overrated.
  16. How is Pie doing after the Cubs sent him down? Has he taken a new approach to hitting and learned or has he gone back to the way he was?
  17. Did Marquis start falling behind the hitters when he fell apart?
  18. How many of Theriots thrown outs have been by pick offs and hit and runs?
  19. So if he left and the Cubs offered arb the Cubs would get 2 picks, correct? Not that I want him to leave but if he wants a 4 year deal at 13 or more....that'll be a a lot of money and years w/ some pretty decent talent in the minors.
  20. I was going to say the same thing. If there is a big surplus of starting pitchers, Hendry will have the option to deal for an impact hitter when one is needed. Right. You could just re-tool the bench and keep other things status quo until you see what is needed for 09'. If Guzman contributes next month out of the pen you have a great deal of flexibility in the trade market. Next year's draft will also be very important, IMO. We need to start considering who the realistic replacements for Lee and Ramirez will be. I am guessing one or both may be gone by 2012-13. If Dempster does decide to sign elsewhere, what type of free agent would he be?
  21. Beat em Cubs...these aren't your fathers Expo's anymore.
  22. I'd be shocked if the Yanks didn't offer CC the moon. Sheets wouldn't be a bad option depending on cost and the Cubs pitching depth in the minors when he needs his tweeks for a month.
  23. There is a Shooter Pass for those who admire the one and only Beck.
