Brewers swept the Dodgers twice this season. 🤷‍♂️

It's unfortunate because we saw what it meant to Happ for the team to be back in the playoffs, but he has been absolutely awful.  Outside of the garbage time home run, he hasn't done a thing the entire postseason.

Hot and cold and he is certainly cold

What I meant to say is, the players usually get the short end of the stick.  Public opinion tends to side with the owners and the players are much more likely to settle for less.

I do agree with this, unfortunately.

If there's any reason for optimism, Taillon has been the Cubs best pitcher of late.  Put it on his shoulders at Wrigley and try to get back in the series.

While I do think there is a good chance we win that game there is very little chance that we win either of the games after that one.

Cubs got two hanging breaking balls and the best they could do is pop them up.  Something tells me you can't count on such ineptitude from the Dodgers.

Based on the entirety of the regular season, this is about where the Cubs should have finished. They aren't better than the Brewers, Dodgers, and probably the Phillies too. They deserved to win a playoff series, but they just aren't good enough to go any farther considering how the offense faired in the second half.

12 straight playoff games with 3 or less runs is the longest stretch in MLB history he said.  That can’t be right, can it?  What a kick in the nuts while we’re down.

So Tucker leaves and we run the same super streaky players out on offense and we’ll somehow not struggle to score runs next year?

Posted

Yeah, I guess it all comes down to the offense.  If they score 3 or less runs, they would lose more than half the game.

wild to see a guy light $100-200 mil on fire like tucker has done the last 3 months.

Some team is going to convince themselves he’s worth a huge deal and Rendon’d don’t worry.

I think we've seen enough Tucker, and I don't like the Cubs to sign him, unless he's dirt cheap.  Two different teams, but even Bellinger was better than Tucker this year.

Joey Ortiz is definitely on the Podium of the most punchable face in Baseball.

Yeah, that's what I meant.  I don't want Tucker next year.  That said, he could be great for another team next year.😄

That the thing with Happ, he hits in spurts all season, so him in the postseason, you have to hope it his hot time and he's hitting during a series.

Don't want one of the best hitters in baseball. Bold strategy.

Teams with the Cubs money have multiple Tucker level contracts and we are scared away from having just one.

Cubs MVP's of this series are all long relievers.  That should tell you everything you need to know about how things are going.

Why it made zero sense to start Boyd on 3 days rest. They had Civale, Soroka, Rea, and could of even had Assad in that mix to get them through that first game.

07: 3-0 sweep
08: 3-0 sweep
15: 4-0 sweep
17: 4-1 (down 3-0)
18: 1 run in 13 innings in WC game
20: 2-0 sweep
25: down 2-0

Cubs sure know how to get wiped out of a playoff series. I mean, they're all losses so the outcome isn't good, but you'd think there would be a few more 3-1/3-2/4-2's in there.
