Game...

Brewers are amped, cubs just going through the motions

Sorry dude. But the Cubs aren’t just going through the motions. Brewers are just beating them. So you really think the Cubs aren’t trying? I mean, really? Take a second and think how ridiculous that statement sounds.

Can’t believe I am about to say this about the Dodgers. It’s going to be satisfying as horsefeathers when they sweep Milwaukee.

It will hurt a little to root for them, but watching the Brewers get their ass kicked will be so beautiful.

I’m rooting for Dodgers after this. Win with big wallets and pockets. Show Tommy boy what happens when you spend a horsefeathers ton of $

Just root for the Dodgers and then root for the Mariners or Blue Jays in the WS. Easy.

Between July 30th and September 19th he had a 3.69 ERA, and a 3.79 xFIP. He faced the Brewers twice in that span, to be clear and was just fine. Yes, there were home runs surrendered in there, but Shota is always going to be a bit of a HR merchant; his fastball will do that. But it wasn't really an issue. He was doing everything else pretty well. There is nothing there outside of a slightly high HR/FB% rate in there. But no where near enough to say "strip it down and completely change this dude's mechanics".

so it’s simultaneously true that there was nothing much worth changing but you’re confident that we have the brain trust to make the necessary changes

The lady with the honkers in the first row is still there at least.  She's marking. every pitch on paper.

No no, it makes sense....Cubs play 162 games over 6 months and win an emotional series against San Diego and then are like "nah"

Been a season ticket holder for the Tigers for years.  Wife and kids are from here, so I’ll be rooting for them for now.  However, they’ve horsefeathers the bed worse than the Cubs lately.

I can promise you the Dodgers winning will change nothing about the Cubs’ approach.

Didd TBS really move to a CF broadcast camera game 1 to get her out of the picture?

LOL. Sure, in between those two starts where he gave up 15 combined runs, he wasn't that bad!

Maybe this will light a fire under Tom and Jed's asses.

Who am I kidding?  Stay the course, win 90 games, and try to eek into the playoffs again.

They’re gonna see if they can cut another $25M from the payroll and sneak in to the playoffs.

That Dodgers team is starting to wake up and resemble the team everyone thought they might be.  These Brewers (or Cubs) are no match for that team.

I'd prefer if you didn't put words in my mouth. I'm happy to have a conversation, but if we're not going to have one in good faith, I'll bow out.

No, what I said is that I think the issue with Shota is that his arm angle is too shallow. I also trust that guys like Tyler Zombro and Tommy Hottovoy are really smart guys (Zombro runs Tread Athletics, one of the best pitching developmental groups on the planet). Shota, leading up to his last start of the season, was pitching well enough that even though he was giving up added home runs, it wasn't really hurting him overall - when ERA and xFIP are essentially in line, you are getting results you likely should expect - there is no use in going nuclear and stripping a guy to the core mechanically when that's happening.

Between his last start of the regular season, the playoff start against San Diego and his one tonight, the needle is shifting to where that change is more and more likely to need to be made. But it cannot be made at this juncture of the season.

Injured or not, it sucks that Kyle Tucker has completely let Ricketts off the hook.  Nobody will even bat an eye when the Cubs let him walk.

The Brewers would replace him with a castoff from a 100 loss club and get equal performance.

Wish I seen this before I made my post lol

Why can I see TR telling Hoyer to not pick it up and put it in Imanaga hand to either take the 2/30 or go to FA

🙄🙄

I honestly have no problem with him letting walk, his injury history won't improve with age.  Go after Cease or King or both.  Shaw will improve, Busch will probably get better, I'd gladly trade Tucker for Cease/King and Cassie in RF.
