Don't want one of the best hitters in baseball. Bold strategy.

Teams with the Cubs money have multiple Tucker level contracts and we are scared away from having just one.

Forget having one. Ricketts won’t even bid on one.

Say what you will about the pitching strategy and decision-making, but what gets me tonight is scoring 3 runs in the first inning and then getting blanked on 2 hits the final 8 innings on a bullpen day for the Brewers. The 7 runs on the 3 dongs is rough, but man fight back and make it a game!

Just foul pop outs and Ks

That's the thing about the Brewers.  They put the ball in play and good things happen.  The Cubs hitters aren't even giving themselves a chance.

I like Tucker but, him being effectively in absentia for 3 months has kind of dampened my enthusiasm.

Yeah they went about as far as they could . . Only reason they barely got past SD is because they have offense problems as well .   They really had no chance against any other team .

12 straight playoff games with 3 or less runs is the longest stretch in MLB history he said.  That can’t be right, can it?  What a kick in the nuts while we’re down.

the turd in the punch bowl of the theo era is how the bats absolutely went in the tank in the playoffs and unfortunately that has continued when we actually step off our own dicks enough to actually make the playoffs

It just sucks to lose first two in the best of 5.

Yeah.  On the positive the next 2 are in Chicago.

Assuming we win the game 3 with Jamo, I'd like to see something crazy like starting Ben Brown or Civale.  Doesn't seem like we can beat the Brewers with Boyd or Imanaga starting.  Rea would be better than Brown and Civale, but he just pitched tonight.

I agree, but the Cubs didn’t even try for any of the other studs that went to FA

Yeah , I won’t miss Tucker one bit .  Wish him well , but bye bye

I agree 100%.  I really don't want him back, like I said, unless he's dirt cheap, which isn't gonna happen.

That’s desperation and we are desperate

It  would be Boyd again and the result isn’t likely to be much better than the 1st game . Brewers see the ball really big against him .

Well, if you believe Jed they did make a very "competitive" offer to Bregman.

When Tucker walks I’d like to see the Cubs take the approach the Yankees did after losing Soto. Pivot to bring in multiple legitimate, useful pieces.

Just not sure Jed has it in him to get it done.

They needed Tucker these playoffs but he's not around.  Seiya can't do all the heavy lifting.

He is playing injured, after all.

I'll take Tucker any given day. The idea the team is better without him is asinine. There's no reason for him not to get a retirement contract from the Cubs.

It's tough when 2/3 of the 3-4-5 are MIA.  It's going to be really hard to mount any consistent offense with that being the case.
