i still wouldn't hesitate to DFA him for a roster spot when that becomes necessary, but congrats to Justin Turner who has an awesome moment and has made his impression on the season forever

Justin Turner? Really? Not complaining just surprised.

Dude give him almost a BP FB there, it's about horsefeathers time SOMEONE got a hit.  Looking at the video that was a BP FB, much like the numerous ones the Orioles threw today that weren't crushed.

I didn’t feel bad seeing him just because everyone else has been mediocre.  Why not try it.

7.5 lead over the reds for a WC spot . Just don’t get swept . If the Cubs sweep however , they can pretty much put reds away for good .

If an .088 hitter is allowed to get a game tying run off Palencia then Justin Turner is allowed to hit a game winning home run off of their closer too.

Same thing I was thinking, not only is he a .088 hitter, he's truly bad, wasn't even good in college.  Did manage to put together a couple of decent minor league seasons 4 years ago, outside of that, not much.

A fun thing this board does is watch the team win a series with a walk off and then be like ‘well maybe they’ll finally start to play well after this’. Like, they just won! Three of the last four! That counts!

6-7 in their last 13. Still mediocre.

I kid I kid.

Two of three, keep playing 600 ball and everything will be fine.  That aside, any decent non-slumping team would have rolled over the Orioles on Saturday and Sunday, Orioles starter on Friday was really good, I'll give them that.  Yesterday and today?  Cubs were given a plethora of pitches to crush and they missed most of them, just a weak ass pathetic display of hitting.

Checking out some of the Cardinals-Padres, Pozo just might be the fattest player in baseball.  Moises notwithstanding, I was giving Pozo the benefit of the doubt with what appeared to be a baggy uniform.  Then I saw a close up, that uniform aint baggy.  Cardinals down 7-0 putting on the fakest of rallies loading the bases with no outs?  All those dumping on Thielbar yesterday, Morejon didn't record an out, 2 runs, left with the bases loaded, score is 7-2.

OK, Justin Turner gets a pass forever now.

I think he should retire tonight- go out with a pinch hit walk off homer

Kind of the point of saying you hope this kind of game kicks starts them.

3 of 4 is a start but weve seen them do that then lose the next couple games.

you're hoping for now is this wil kick start them to a nice long win streak and maybe even a stretch of playing a bit better then 600 ball for a bit.

Going  14-6 or better over the next 20 is a type of run you'd like to see now, that what saying you hope this gets them going means.

I mean, I also would like to see the team go 17-7 in a 24 game stretch, but I'm not going to be overly disappointed if they don't reach that level. Winning series is pretty cool with me.

So you are saying you want them to lose 2 games to the Brewers over the next 20?! 😆

it’s just crazy how hot they are.

I know you are joking. But really we all should stop worrying about what the Brewers are doing. Just want the Cubs to play well. If the Cubs go 14-6 and take 3 of 5 from the Brewers during that span, they will be fine. If the Brewers keep winning then they are just better. Cubs can only worry about them when they play them. Win 30 of the next 51 and 3 of 5 against Milwaukee and I will take my chances with 95 wins.

Pitching freak Misiorowski of the Brewers on the IL now due to bruise from Seiya's line drive.

Chourio down and Flelick left the game today with a sore knee.

Everyone gets hot and cold during a season.  This just happens to be the time when Nico and Shaw (and Turner?) are swinging well and the big guns Seiya/Tucker/Busch are cold at the same time.

Hey, he hit that meatball that PCA missed the day before in the 9th.  Not easy hitting a baseball out of the park, even the mistakes....good for him.

Just waiting for round 2 of a Swanson 3 week year and another Busch hot streak in time for the top of the order to start slugging in unison. 2 homers from our 1-4 in the last 13. That way they’ll at least pass the eye test.
