  1. It seems like a) the Cubs maybe adjusted their strategy for the batters to wait and b) the calls are not as obvious when you're not watching on tv with the strike zone graphic. He's had quite a few misses through 3.5 innings, yet the Padres went 0-2 on challenges. It's hard!
  2. Shaw was shaking out his hand/wrist last AB. That's clearly not a straight PH situation
  3. Honestly, I'm ok if Seiya never slides again. I love him, but he's a danger to himself as a baserunner
  4. I'd also say that's the exact pocket of 2 hitters to make the move. Contreras and Vaughn getting a 3rd look at a soft ish tossing lefty ain't ideal
  5. Brett brought this up on their podcast last week, but with how quickly Breslow got rid of this guy after having him... is it a good thing Breslow is no longer here?
  6. Obviously he's incredible but with the way the offense is going, I could see a still dominant, yet relatively short (high pitch count) performance by the Miz tonight. Not that our pitching is in a good spot to take advantage if that did happen, though.
  7. This series keeps making me feel better about Peterson. My goodness
  8. I also think Shaw is going to turn into a sneaky really good (great?) RFer by the metrics, if given the chance, with his athleticism.
  9. Boog is elite and people take the poor play of the baseball team out on him.
  10. I officially don't like how much first base Hartshorn is playing.
  11. Lol, I'd love to have Kipnis, in his finest hoody, give me his take on what the other 29 teams are "working on pre game."
  12. In terms of Rojas' future position, the amount of time he has spent not playing shortstop this season is telling to me. Yeah yeah positional versatility and all that, but if they truly thought he was a SS, learning other positions seems like it'd be more of a AAA thing for him when he's knocking on the door. And it's not like 3B is more "open" on the big league team.
  13. Palencia is the guy if it gets to that. And even if they're hanging around a WC spot at the deadline, which I still think they will be, trading him (you can still soft 'buy' elsewhere) seems like a shrewd move to me.
  14. (This is where some of the positive regression will come from)
  15. I know he SUCKS and everyone is ready for him to leave or whatever but Seiya is grading out quite well in RF this season.
  16. And he's still stealing a ton. Wonder if it's left arm related.
  17. The line between good and really bad is just too thin. He's not going to do very well in free agency.
