Any plan that includes getting a fair amount of innings out of Steele as a starter is probably doomed to fail. He is also a free agent after this next season. Horton will probably not be back for any significant amount of innings as a starter either. Wiggins could be used like Ben Brown was in 2025, but there is still some questions about his health and drop in velocity. We blew through a lot of our prospect value acquiring pitching this past season, which sucks because we're right where we were before needing starting pitching and a better bullpen.

Hoping this isn't another Jake Peavey.

Can I go with Push? Does a bench bat count as a 0.5 player?

Cubs are interested in any available pitcher with a pulse. We go through this every trade deadline.

What is the over/under on numbers of days on the DL for a starter we do get?

Rumor is that Detroit wants pitching for Skubal. We don't have enough quality and healthy pitching to offer Detroit for Skubal.

Wasn't it reported that Steele won't be pitching this year?

Kris Bryant put up nearly 30 WAR in 6 seasons with the Cubs. He was on his way to being a potential HOFer if it wasn't for the injuries.

Imagine how good we could be if we were healthier, had a TOR and a couple of bullpen pieces.

It always feels like slumps are because the league adjusts to the Cubs and then the players are slow to make adjustments.

This podcast is so much fun. The Dexter episode just came out today. I love how in every single one of these they talk about how much they hated the Cardinals and how much fun it was to beat them down in 2015.

Pretty odd. I've always remembered Cubs fans outnumbering Reds fans in Cincinnati. Especially as the season progressed. I know this one is in Chiacago though.

    Suzuki getting the job done.
